Hailing from Murfreesboro, Coach Tara James has built a solid program that competes year in and year out. These girls are trained well, coached up, and play the game with passion. Talented and skilled, these girls are detail oriented and do the little things right. From boxing out properly to sitting down and guarding someone, the little things that coaches preach to their teams, these girls excel at doing.
This program has been in the top three of their district yearly. This year, especially with Webb out of the equation, these girls look to take the district and contend for a state title. They are balanced on the attack, blessed with an inside and out presence. They have size, they have speed, they have grit. The Lady Lions program has been known to get after it as soon as the ball tips off. These girls are molded in the identity of their coach. It’s about being solid young people and playing the game the right way.
With a few new additions to their original core, PCA looks to tip the scales this year in their favor. This will be an exciting group of young ladies who play together. With a collective effort, I believe they will reach new heights and compete for something golden this upcoming season.
Here are a few Lady Lions you need to keep your eyes on this season.
Daisy Gale Daisy Gale 5'8" | PG PCA | 2024 State TN (5’8/Sr./G)– Fierce competitor. She is a two-way hooper that won’t be denied. For starters, Daisy brings a presence to the game like no other. Gritty and confident, she gets after it on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she can shoot it on all 3 levels. She has a quick first step that enables her to attack downhill to the rim. She can pull up, she can finish. Either way, more often than not, the ball finds the bottom of the net. Defensively, she has great reactionary skills. She anticipates well, stealing the ball or jumping passing lanes, her defense becomes offense very quickly. She’s a heady player who will look to set the tone for the Lady Lions ball club.
Ambria Ferkany Ambria Ferkany 5'7" | SG Providence Christian Academy | 2024 State TN (5’7/Sr./G)– She’s a gamer. Very talented in skill, she just goes out and competes. Does what her coach wants and then some. Multi-level scoring threat that has a nice shot release. She’s clutch when it comes to situational scoring, being fearless if her name is called upon. I will say, she has a knack for being in the right spot at the right time. Being on the boards is a part of her game. She’s a selfless teammate that looks to feed others before scoring herself. What I love most about this young lady, she’s willing to sacrifice her body to take charges. Great player who will be one of the leading contributors for a hungry Lady Lions team.
Gabby DeBoard (6’1/Fr./F)– Gabby will come in and contribute right away for this club. Blessed with great size, she has a good understanding of how to utilize her body to take advantage of opponents and situations. She operates great in space. She can play inside if needed, but also knock down 3s. Teams are going to find it difficult to defend her due to her versatility. Though she’s a freshman and will be thrown into the fire, she has the mental fortitude to overcome the speed of the game, and establish her presence early. This kid will be something special. She already excels at the little things : pick n’roll, pick n’ pop, rebounding, ect. With time, work in the lab, and weight to her frame, she will be an exciting prospect for years to come. As soon as she gets a good grasp of the high school speed, skies are the limit for this young talent.

(6’2/So./F)– Another tower entering the Lady Lions program. She is solid and will be the anchor in the middle. KM is a beast around the paint. Can play back to the basket or step out and knock down 15 footers. Has great hands, anticipates well, she’s a fierce competitor on the boards. She can be utilized in many ways on the offensive end. Pick and roll action, pick in pop action, working hi-low, it will be fun seeing how the coach incorporates her into the offense. Just know that this young prospect will bring it every time she steps on the floor. Giving 110% and then some, she’s going to compete until the final horn.
