With that in mind, Prep Girls Hoops Missouri presents its Way Too Early look at some of the top Class 2 teams to watch. Of course, since we are putting out our list in early September, things can definitely change, such as teams that are moved into a different class, transfers and any other circumstances.
Tipton: The Lady Cardinals lost a lot of firepower from last year’s state championship team, including Class 2 Co-Player of the Year Myra Claas. However, there is plenty of talent back to have another successful season with 5’8″ 2025 guard Charlee Bailey Charlee Bailey 5'7" | CG Tipton | 2025 State MO leading the way. Bailey was an All-State selection as a sophomore. 2024 guard Courtney Edwards Courtney Edwards 5'11" | SG Tipton | 2024 State MO was an All-District selection last season while 2026s Ava Schlotzhauer Ava Schlotzhauer 5'10" | PF Tipton | 2026 State MO and Clara Williams are ready to step into bigger roles.

Canton: The Tigers finished last season with a 20-8 record and played for a district championship. They return a pair of All-District wing players in 2024s Macie Fisher Macie Fisher 5'9" | SG Canton | 2024 State MO and Mary Glasgow. Incoming 2027 Kendra Oliver is a talented 5’9 guard.

East Carter: The Redbird made a nice run to the Class 2 state quarterfinals and a 22-7 record. They return excellent 6’2 2024 post player Breanna Dohleman and 2025 Parker Golden, who were both All-District selections. A big addition to the team is 5’9 2024 guard Dylan Price Dylan Price 5'9" | CG Ellington | 2024 State MO , who was an All-State selection at Ellington last season.

Fordland: The Eagles were 21-9 last season and earned a berth in the state quarterfinals. They return a pair of All-District selections in 2024 Emma Trotter and 2025 Kenzie Haskins

Miller: The Cardinals were a youthful, yet talented team that won 25 games and advanced to the state quarterfinals last season. They have a strong group of 2026s in All-Stater Loghann Leivan Loghann Leivan 5'9" | SF Miller | 2026 State MO and All-District selections Rachel Nunez Rachel Nunez 5'8" | SG Miller | 2026 State MO and Ashlynn Helton Ashlynn Helton 5'8" | SG Miller | 2026 State MO .

Neelyville: The Tigers are a talented group from the SEMO area that won 19 games and a district championship last year. The top player back is 6’1 2026 forward Parker Ernst Parker Ernst 6'1" | PF Neelyville | 2026 State MO , who was an All-State selection as a freshman. Also returning after earning All-District honors are 2024 Layni Dobbins and 2025 Jade Crosswhite.

Northeast Cairo: The Bearcats had a strong season where they finished 26-4 and advanced to the state quarterfinals. They return an excellent front court player in 6’2″ 2025 forward Macie Harman Macie Harman 6'2" | PF NE Cairo | 2025 State MO and 5’10” 2025 forward Avery Brumley Avery Brumley 5'7" | PG NE Cairo | 2025 State MO .

Principia: The Panthers are a potential new power on the scene with some talented new players in the program. They have the state’s top incoming 2027 in 6’1 Dasia Scott and a talented point guard in 5’7 2025 Jayla Hawkins.

St. Vincent: The Indians finished 24-4 and won a district championship last season. They return three All-District players from last year’s young team in 2025s Allie Patrick Allie Patrick 5'9" | SG St Vincent | 2025 State MO , Haley Emmendorfer and 2026 Lana Adams.
