These players have been some of the hardest workers in the state and their work is paying off in attention from both scouts and college coaches. A player who appears in the rankings is a player who has shown the ability to play at the next level. These six athletes definitely will be contributing somewhere, at some level.
Naomi has been absolutely on fire when it comes to offers, picking up several big-time NAIA offers in just a three week span. Her junior year highlight reel is a master class in what the modern “big” is capable of. She is great at making herself available to passers down low and once she has the ball, man, she goes to work. She shows some tremendous footwork and she is lightning fast, at times, leaving defenders looking absolutely bewildered down low. She can shoot it from just about anywhere and also shows the ability to use her quickness to blow by defenders with enough handles to secure the ball and get the bucket. Daugherty is a legit prospect and it’s no wonder so many schools are reaching out.
I’ve run into Gabrielle at several events over the last few months with different tryouts and showcases going on. One thing you can always count on with Gabi, and one thing college coaches should be excited that they are guaranteed to get from her, is a dedication to defense. She is a strong on-ball defender. She is quick and does a great job of staying in front of her opponent. It all starts with defense for Lee, but it doesn’t end there. She can shoot it and given an inch of space she will let it fly… and more than likely make it. This senior season at Norman will be a big one for Gabrielle and I am excited to see the offers come in for this prospect.
Allie is a star for perennial favorite Tuttle and has already committed to continue plying her trade at the next level for Head Coach Bo Overton at Oklahoma Baptist. What the Bison will be getting is a lightning fast guard who is absolutely relentless when it comes to driving to the rim and finishing. She is fearless. Watch her playoff game tape against Bethany and you’ll see a player taking on the best players in the state and being unafraid to use her handles to get by them and finish despite contact. She is a tough one and going to be a great one at the next level!
Tierany is a strong, well-built guard who initially will get you worried about her three-point shooting. But, once she gives you that little pump and puts her foot in the ground, you’re doomed. She goes hard to the rim and does a great job of using her body to draw the contact while finishing. She is a tough player who is drawing NAIA interest and deservedly so. A dedicated defender and just an all-around good teammate, Tierany is most definitely going to be playing at the next level.
Addison is a long and tall prospect who uses her height really well. She is bouncy and does a great job of closing the distance between herself and the player she is defending. She racks up the blocks on the defensive end and thanks to her outstanding speed, she almost always turns it into transition buckets on the other end. In a set offense, she is great at finding space and she hits the three consistently with a nice, high release. At this point, she is picking up an offer every few weeks or so. You’re going to want to talk to her soon. Trust me. You don’t want to miss out on this prospect.
I saw Toni at a tryout a while back and she really stood out for her leadership abilities and her dedication to defense. She does the little things that it takes to win and college coaches have begun to notice with her most recent offer coming in August from an NAIA school. Toni is a very coachable player who takes direction and absorbs it well. She is a good shooter and a great facilitator. A tremendous defender, everything starts for her on the defensive end. She will outwork everyone on the court. Guaranteed.
