The Expo showcased top girls’ basketball prospects from both North and South Dakota. Among the flurry of crossovers, impressive drives, and diverse finishes, one aspect of the game took center stage for this group of athletes – the art of the three-point shot. In this article, we’ll explore the captivating performances of the top three-point shooters who left spectators in awe with their sniper-like precision and clutch long-range accuracy.
Blake Thompson Blake Thompson 5'7" | SG McLaughlin | 2026 State SD – Class of 2026 – Mobridge-Pollack, SD – 5’6″ G
Blake showcased some of the most impressive shooting range at the expo and was not afraid to take big shots in crucial moments at the event. She has an innate ability to pull the trigger, getting her shot off quickly and knocking them down with ease. Pair this with a willingness to play tough, scrappy on-ball defense and you had a guard that was a ton of fun to watch.
Mya Kochuten Mya Kochuten 5'6" | PG Spearfish | 2025 State SD – Class of 2025 – Spearfish, SD – 5’6″ G
Clutch shooting, intense work ethic, and an all-around solid game have helped Mya stand out in a state full of really talented players in South Dakota. She was a consistent 3-point shooter and showed zero fear in her game. A big-time player, look for Mya to lead her Spearfish squad this winter in hopes of having a successful season and making some noise come postseason time.
London Geiver London Geiver 5'9" | SG Brandon Valley | 2027 State SD – Class of 2027 – Brandon Valley SD – 5’9″ G
London was one of the youngest players at the event but you would have no way of knowing it when you break down her skillset and watch her get after it on the hardwood. She showed off one of the most consistent 3-point barrages on the day and knocked down a ton of open shots. She stood out on a big stage with her shooting ability and very solid all-around game. Big things to come for this young lady!
Haidyn Crockett Haidyn Crockett 5'9" | PG Northern Cass | 2025 State ND – Class of 2025 – Northern Cass, ND – 5’9″ G/F
Haidyn was one of the more underrated prospects coming into this event for me. This kid has a toughness, a competitor’s mindset, and a skill-set that helped her stand out amongst a crowd of really talented basketball players. She is an excellent shooter with a smooth delivery and impressive shot preparation. She has an inside-out game as she finds gaps to attack and spots up to knock down threes with ease. Big-time standout in Haidyn who had a really solid Expo performance!
Mattie Huwe Mattie Huwe 5'6" | SG Tri-Valley | 2026 State SD – Class of 2026 – Tri-Valley SD – 5’6″ G
Mattie is a valuable contributor on the floor who stood out with great shooting consistency from beyond the arc. She does a fantastic job of moving without the basketball on offense in order to create opportunities to get her shot off from deep. An excellent day from the outside shooting helped solidify Mattie’s status as one of the better outside shooters in the Class of 2026.
Andie Peters Andie Peters 5'4" | CG Lennox | 2026 State SD – Class of 2026 – Lennox, SD – 5’4″ G
Andie was lights out from beyond the arc and put together stood out as one of the most impressive 3-point knockdown artists at the Expo. She showed off the ability to create scoring chances for herself with great movement and positioning in both the full and half-court offense. You knew it was going in nearly every time it left her hand when she was open.
Ella Merriman Ella Merriman 5'6" | CG Beresford | 2026 State SD – Class of 2026 – Beresford, SD – 5’6″ G
Ella is a smooth left-handed sniper of a scorer from Beresford who knocks down the open shot with ease. She has a very fundamental overall skillset with the ability to handle it, drive it, and shoot it. She cracks the list as one of the best outside shooters at the event!
Ashlin Jacobsen Ashlin Jacobsen 5'9" | SG Freeman | 2024 State SD – Class of 2024 – Freeman, SD – 5’9″ G
Ashlin has the makeup of a really good basketball player. She’s got length, athleticism, smarts, and one of the nicest-looking 3-point jump shots in the state. She spaces herself well on the offensive end and doesn’t force bad shots. She has patience in getting to her spots to score and when you pair high IQ with a deadly outside shot, you get a lot of scoring output!
Tyra Berry Tyra Berry 5'5" | SG Milbank | 2025 State SD – Class of 2025 – Milbank, SD – 5’5″ G
Tyra may get the nod for the most consistent deep-range shooter on the day! She was absolutely fantastic in spotting up, receiving passes with hands and feet ready to shoot, and leaving nothing but the sound of the net as she dropped in three after three. Stock is up on the guard from Milbank after she showcased her shooting abilities, defensive prowess, and a competitor’s mindset at the Top 250 Expo!
Taziah Hawkins Taziah Hawkins 5'6" | PG Hanson | 2026 State SD – Class of 2026 – Hanson, SD – 5’6″ G
Taziah is a high-energy guard who can handle it, score it, and create for an offense. She has a really nice outside shots that she puts up with confidence and can score in bunches. She is a threat from well beyond the arc and forces defenders to come out away from the basket to guard her, allowing more space for her teammates to operate in as well.
Myah Rau Myah Rau 5'6" | PF South Prairie | 2027 ND – Class of 2027 – South Prairie, ND – 5’6″ G
Myah is a young guard with loads of promise as a basketball player. She knocked down big shots for her team and looks like a scorer who is capable of putting up big numbers night in and night out. Just a Class of 2027 prospect she already has leadership qualities and she demonstrated a competitive mindset, a high-level of communication, and was an excellent teammate on the floor. A great mix of intangibles and talent led to this young lady cracking the list of Top Performances on the day!
