Here are some names that we like and we decided to write some evaluations on these players. These are the kids that make the team GO, here are the selections we were impressed with.
2024, 5’4, CG, Corona Centennial HS, Aniyah Offutt Aniyah Offutt 5'6" | CG Corona Centennial | 2024 State CA
Strong type guard who is not afraid to get teammates involved in the game with some nice passes for easy buckets, her handles are decent and she can lend some time at the point guard if needed, but her main position is scoring guard. She made the right decisions on the floor and was able to make things easy for her teammates at the PG spot, but loved the way she attacked the rim and was able to score thru contact.
2024, 5’10, CG, Lynwood HS, Taliyah McFerson Taliyah McFerson 5'9" | SG Orange Lutheran | 2024 State CA
Taliyah has always had good size for a guard, she makes players bounce off of her body as she makes her way to the rim thru contact. She is capable of making the midrange shot from the freethrow line consistently and she is a monster getting to rim and scoring with easy hoops and harm. She is one of the better rebounding guards we saw in a long time, she is able to battle down low with the best of them and make sure she gets the ball out to the guard to start the break.
2024, 5’8, PG, South Pasadena HS, Dylan Tse Dylan Tse 5'6" | CG South Pasadena HS | 2024 State CA
Dylan is an all purpose point guard that can score, dish the ball toe teammates and make things hard for the defense at all times on the floor. She can shoot the ball, she can put it on the floor and drive to the rim thru contact. She has a really good handle and finds her way into the paint to get easy scores or some nice dimes to teammates for easy assists. She is equally a decent defender and is not afraid to mix it up in the paint with rebounds, immediately getting it out into transition for her teammates to score.
2024, 5’8, CG, Village Christian HS, Bryanne Lopez-Wood Bryanne Lopez-Wood 5'8" | CG Alemany HS | 2024 State CA
Bryanne is a hard nosed combo scoring guard that plays really hard on the floor and is quite smooth with the ball, if I should say so, she made some really nice plays in this event and also showed me she was a solid player all-around. She is capable of putting up big numbers in a game, but she does it with the right decision making during the game, she is not shy passing to teammates to get easy buckets in transition or half-court. She has a variety of ways of scoring on the floor and we loved watching her play at this event.
