SubscribeGreen and Gold reload. When I think of the Hillsboro Lady Burros, I think of a tenacious basketball club that prides themselves on defense. They create havoc by unleashing their speed and quickness to generate turnovers and easy transition buckets. They have kids that can slice through defenses, finish at the rim, and control the boards. Hillsboro Lady Burros are about swagger, bringing a lunch pail mentality to the floor on a nightly basis.
Last year, the Lady Burros finished 19-10 overall and were 10-0 in the district. They graduated a very talented senior class that some went on to play at the next level. Coached by Cherish Stringfield, if you know what she is all about, understand the Lady Burros are a makeup of her. Toughness, defensive minded, consistent shooters, go-getters. When Coach hooped at Vanderbilt back in her playing days, this was the type of ball player she was. Now, she has a solid program made in her image. This year’s bunch may be young, but understand they will be coached up and ready to play come season. These ladies are hungry to continue and build upon the solid foundation that has been laid before them. It’s going to be a fun time around the Green Hills area. Look for these Lady Burros to be a solid bunch that will bring it every single night.
Raegan Starks Raegan Starks 5'8" | SG Hillsboro | 2024 TN (5’8/Sr./SG)– Solid ball player who is a mid-range specialist. Can score it from all 3 levels, but makes her money from the 15ft field area. From knocking down corner shots, elbow shots, and of course stepping back beyond the arc, she will be looked on heavily to score for the Lady Burros. Had a solid summer where she grew both in her game as well as confidence. Look for her to go out with a bang and continue on the success she’s had at HHS.
Eboni Donaldson (5’6/So./G)– Dual sport athlete that is a hustler. She’s a two-way player who gets it done on both ends of the floor. Can sit down and guard, leading to easy buckets for her squad. Offensively, she’s solid, has a nice first step and can finish from various spots from the field. She’s a gamer and when the ball tips off, she’s ready to roll and dominate the competition.
Reagan Wiggins (5’9/Fr./CG)– An all around solid prospect that will be a special gem of this ‘27 class. She’s a multi-level scoring threat that is an old junkyard dog. She’s a hustler, who is scrappy on the defensive end. Offensively, she can get to the rim with ease or unleash her sweet stroke from the arc. Blessed with size and quickness, she can create havoc against her opponents by playing all 5 positions. Once she gets the hang of the speed of the game, look for this hooper to be someone tough to deal with.
