It is a very smart way to promote your school and to gain some really good relationships with California coaches that have power teams in the state. We went out this weekend and saw some really good teams play and here are some girls that we believe put in some work and allowed us to see how they have improved since last season.
2024, 5’5, PG/CG, Clovis West HS, Athena Tomlinson Athena Tomlinson 5'5" | PG Clovis West | 2024 State CA
Athena is already heralded and has been for many years since her Freshman year, she is solid in all aspects of the game, she can get to the rim and finish thru contact, she can stop and pop the midrange and she is shooting the deep three ball now preparing for the adjustment in college. She runs her team like she is suppose to, she reads the floor well, she makes good decisions and she will do fine at the next level cause of her skill and attitude to win. We have enjoyed watching her develop throughout the the years and she has also participated in most of the event I covered and we were happy to see her at those.
2024, 5’9, PG/SG, Brentwood School HS, Aariah Roa Aariah Roa 5'9" | SG Brentwood | 2024 State CA
Slender slashing guard who loves to catch and shoot on the perimeter, we watched her stop and pop a few times off the bounce in transition. She can make the three pointer and can get to the rim and finish with a variety of nice moves, we loved her creativity with layups. Runs the floor well and gets to her spots for easy shots to be made on the catch or for a nice pump fake one-two dribble pull up. Can also lend some time as the point guard if needed for her team which is a great asset to any coach.
2024, 5’7, PG, AZ Compass Prep HS (AZ), Aniya Rowe
Combo scoring guard that is also the lead guard on this team, she is dynamic on the court, steals on defense and turns them into buckets. Shoots the midrange and can get to the rim and finish thru traffic. She is explosive and is the leader for this team in my opinion, made multiple moves to the rim and was able to finish with contact, strong, quick and very athletic to say the least. Ran the offense for her team with confidence and was very vocal on the court as a lead guard should be. This kid can play, we like her skill set.
2026, 6’0, C, San Clemente HS, Reese Tremper
Reese was a firecracker in the paint for her team, she rebounded balls for putbacks and was also able to catch in the paint and score over either shoulder as well as throw back out from the double-team. She ran the floor well, she ran to the block and sealed her opponent and was able to get the bucket on numerous occasions. We loved her rebounding skills, she got to ball in her area and out, gave us a lot to see in the paint, moved well down low, stepped out to short corner for shots as well.
