I was able to attend the event on Saturday, Oct. 21 and here’s a look at some of the top players I saw.
1.
Audrey Chen

– La Salle 2024
Chen is combo guard with good size. She’s a good ball-handler and can control the pace of the game. Able to dribble under control with her head up against good defensive pressure. She’s quick and decisive with the ball especially in transition. Does a good job looking for open teammates in the half court. Overall strong floor leader.
2. Giselly Gaona – LA Marshall 2024
Gaona is a quick little point guard with solid handles. She pushes the pace in transition and gets out ahead of the defense. Could be a little more patient on the break though. Has a decent off the dribble game in the halfcourt. Defensively she is strong on ball sliding her feet well and cutting off drives/dribble penetration.
3.
Aaliyah Serpas

– Arleta 2024
Serpas is a guard on the smaller size but is still effective and capable of playing both guard positions; she can handle the ball and she can operate off ball with another ball-handler. Makes solid entry passes. She can shoot well off the catch from three-point range. She’s also trusted by her team to take shots up against the shot clock.
4. Chloe Lin – San Marino 2024
Lin stood out as a solid point guard in transition. She pushes the tempo will on the break, she keeps her head up and she looks for her teammates. Good passing in transition. She can move off ball as well playing alongside another ball-handler. Was able to get into the paint at times off the dribble.
