The event featured some of the top teams and talent in the Southern California area and was held from Sept. 30-Oct. 1. I was able to attend the event on Sunday, Oct. 1 and here’s a look at some additional standouts I saw.
1.

Offut it a strong combo guard who is very unselfish. I saw her play with her club team over the summer and this was my first time seeing her play with her regular teammates. She’s a strong ball-handler and makes the right reads/passes in the halfcourt. Pass first guard who can keep the ball moving and made the extra pass. Able to attack off the dribble and a strong finisher in the paint.
2.
Deana Thompson

Thompson was one of the best scoring wings at the event. She was able to score with the ball in her hands and off ball as well. Comfortable handling the ball on the break and in the halfcourt. Her strength was in her ability to finish at the basket. She was able to finish through contact and she used her body well to shield the ball from the defense. Can shoot it too from three-point range.
3. Natalie Lopez – Birmingham 2024
Lopez was one of the toughest and most impactful guards I saw at the event. She’s steady and makes winning plays. A good ball-handler who can run the offense and is always looking to make the right pass/play. Very unselfish. Makes a lot of hustle plays and dives on the floor for loose balls. A leader on the court. Strong defense on ball as well.
4. Destiny Onovo – Saugus 2024
Onovo is kind of combo forward/center. She’s very strong inside. She has some ball-handling skills making moves in the halfcourt. Moves off ball and can finish at the basket off passes. One thing that stood out to me though was her vision. She did well passing out of the post when the defense collapsed and overall she showed a knack for being able to make the right pass; kept looking for her teammates.
