Sam Jacobsen Sam Jacobsen 5'10" | CG Menomonie | 2024 State WI
There aren’t many wings that can get to the rim whenever they want, like Jacobsen can. The Menomonie wing is known for getting to the basket and finishing at a high level with either hand. The other thing that Jacobsen does well and may not get credit for is her ability to make pinpoint entry passes. Jacobsen is a solid passer on the perimeter, and she has the patience to wait for cutters and make passes on time for her teammates to score. The Mustang senior will be one of the most frustrating players to handle in the BRC because of her offensive skillset and ability to apply some pressure on the defensive end of the floor.
Bub is the glue that holds everything together at Arrowhead. She’s a 5-11 wing who doesn’t need the ball to find success. Bub is an outstanding rebounder and is an athletic kid. So she can rebound the ball over kids taller than her. That athleticism also allows her to defend on the perimeter in a pinch and do more than survive against talented guards. However, she’s mainly guarding post players, and with her length, Bub can make their lives challenging by keeping her hands up. Offensively, she can score around the basket off offensive rebounds and knock down perimeter jumpers. To see the best version of her, I’d suggest going back and watching the Arrowhead-Germantown games from the past two seasons.
Lauren Capstran Lauren Capstran 5'7" | CG Franklin | 2024 State WI
Off-ball guards who can provide spacing and not need the ball to stay engaged are valuable, and that’s what Capstran brings. She’s played against some of the most talented kids in the region over the past few years and has been the same kid we see at Franklin. She never seems to be out of the game mentally. She’s a consistent shooter with room to improve with more reps and a stable situation at the next level. She’s not flashy, but what she does will help her contribute at the next level.
Abby Jossie Abby Jossie 5'11" | SF Stevens Point | 2024 WI
Unfortunately, Jossie missed a significant amount of time with injury, but her profile has always been intriguing. She’s a 5-11 wing with some guard skills. She can handle the ball well and does a solid job of making passes off the dribble and creating scoring opportunities for others. I also like her ability to operate in the middle of zone offenses and make good decisions with the basketball. Hopefully, we get to see a complete and healthy senior season from her so she can show the state what she can do.
