They lose twin tower duo Christena Walker and Olivia Hagen, but return key starters Kali Norton Kali Norton 5'5" | PG Ellendale | 2024 State ND , Ariel Hagen and Mya Glynn. Though this team may lack size I expect them to pack quiet the punch and come out the gates swinging this year. They’ve got heart, speed and nice depth with almost everyone playing some type of Varsity minutes last year.
Kali Norton Kali Norton 5'5" | PG Ellendale | 2024 State ND – 5’6 – PG – Kali is as fast as they come. She’s got legs that move faster than her body at times but make no mistake this kid can hoop. She’s got a quick burst for a first step that can get around anyone in the district as well a knock down shooter from mid-range. If you think you’re catching this one on a fast break you might want to think again. This will be her 4th year as a varsity starter so expect to see some fireworks when she’s on the court.
Ariel Hagen – 5’9 – SG – I might be modest saying she’s 5’9, but Ariel looks 6′. She’s long lengthy and doesn’t even know how athletic she can be. Hagen has one of the most beautiful jump shots you’ll see and has an amazing floater game when attacking the rim. A true talent that’s got 2 more years to progress. I think this year she comes out of her shell more on the court and really shows everyone what she can do… And that’s hoop!
Mya Glynn – 5’7 – SG – Mya is a quick guard that’s got superb defense. She moves her feet well and has above average lateral quickness. A guard that can hit shots from outside but lacks that confidence most shooters have. She’s got the grit, toughness and poise to be an elite player and if the Cards can get her out of her shell-like Ariel, they could have another potential big-time player in Mya.
Expect quick basketball from the Cards this year. This team is due for some wins and will surely come out with that fire in them this year as they have everything to prove and nothing to lose.
