An early look at some of the must see prospects from around the state. These players provide entertainment to fans and communities because of their highlight reel ability.

Jayla Cornelius Jayla Cornelius 5'7" | CG Blue Springs | 2024 State MO , Blue Springs

Cornelius is one of the more exciting guards in 2024. The Blue Springs native uses quickness as a vehicle to get in the lane and score where she’s at her best. The 5’7 guard is really good at finding pockets to score and make tough shots over taller defenders. A capable scorer, she averaged 15 PPG last year and can explode for a big night at any moment. A combo guard who provides a spark to the Kansas City area.

Peyton Hill Peyton Hill 5'10" | SG Incarnate Word Academy | 2025 State MO , Incarnate Word

Hill was a dynamic player for IWA during their playoff run. She has good length and athleticism for a guard and makes the game fun with her slashing & defense. The junior knows how to turn athleticism into defensive production where she really shines. She’s a great player on that end and makes highlight plays in the form of steals and blocks.

Tayla Robinson Tayla Robinson 5'5" | PG Battle | 2025 State MO , Battle

Robinson makes big plays for a 5’5 PG. She’s going to be a big reason for any Battle success this season and is one of the top rising juniors in the state. The way she makes others better and distributes is easy to watch. A pass first player who’s smart and lets the game come to her naturally. She has talent around her and will put on a show as a playmaker.

Josie Salazar Josie Salazar 5'6" | PG Kickapoo | 2026 State MO , Kickapoo

Salazar is a unique sophomore guard. She plays with such a high level of energy. It’s uncommon to see players that are able to affect all aspects of the game at 5’6 and that’s exactly what she does. She’s tough to knock off her spot and has excellent speed end to end. A bright young prospect at a great program in Kickapoo. Salazar is very fun to watch.
