I’m sure I didn’t see everyone because it’s impossible to as three courts are going, but let’s talk about some of the best performers over the past two days, starting with Friday.
Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI
In the finale of night one, Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI had a spectacular game against Hortonville. She couldn’t put a foot wrong in that game and seemed to score whenever she wanted. She ended the night with well over 30 points and was the best player on the floor on Friday night. You won’t find anyone who gets as into a game as Amy Terrian Amy Terrian 5'8" | PG Pewaukee | 2025 State WI . The Michigan State Spartans have a gem coming in 2025.
MiKayla Werner MiKayla Werner 6'0" | PF Hortonville | 2024 State WI
Nobody has embraced their role like MiKayla Werner MiKayla Werner 6'0" | PF Hortonville | 2024 State WI has over the past few seasons. She could score 15 points every night if she wanted to but embraced the role of rebounder and all-around defender, but Friday was a reminder that she can give teams issues in the paint. She scored off offensive rebounds, a little one-legged fadeaway from ten feet, and through contact. I’ve always felt Werner was undervalued by most, but found a good home in St. Thomas.
I’d talked about Warren a few times heading into this weekend about how talented she was and how much x-factor she could be for Menomonee Falls, and we saw that against Appleton East. She was the fastest kid on the floor and punished every mistake Appleton East made. She got to the rim and made most of the floaters she took. She has a chance to be one of the best lead guards in Wisconsin if she can put it all together for a complete season.
The Menomonee Falls and Appleton East game had a bunch of standouts, and we aren’t even halfway done with that game yet because there are more kids we’ll highlight tomorrow. Although Shea will play soccer at Marquette, she’s still using her elite athleticism on the basketball court for the Phoenix. Shea seemed to rise above everyone for rebounds, loved to run the floor, and routinely beat Patriots defenders down the floor, even on made Patriot baskets. Some of the small athletic plays she makes, whether she changes directions or accelerates past other elite athletes, are one of the crazier experiences of the weekend.
Torie Neubauer Torie Neubauer 6'0" | PF Appleton East | 2025 State WI
I’ve appreciated Neubauer’s game for a while, and her versatility was on full display Friday night. She made some perimeter shots, attacked the rim with a change of direction, finished with her off-hand, defended multiple positions, and was the best player on the floor for Appleton East. She’s capable of having an excellent season in the FVA and being someone college coaches take a long look at over the next 12 months.
