There is quite a bit of recent recruiting news to discuss, which we will be splitting up into several articles over the coming days.
Ella Inacio Ella Inacio 5'10" | SF Red Bank Catholic | 2024 NJ – Red Bank Catholic (2024) commits to Salisbury University
Despite missing the 2022-23 varsity season, Inacio has remained an integral part of Red Bank Catholic, and has kept up her success on the AAU level with Jersey Gemz. The senior announced her commitment to Salisbury University on Tuesday.
Inacio is an interesting prospect to follow since transferring to RBC from Ranney after her freshman year. It ended up working out as she’ll be headed to play for a Division III school. She’s a shooter at heart with the frame to be able to disrupt the action on the inside. She’s able to pull up from anywhere on the court and looks like she can score in all three phases of the game. We’re excited to see her on the high school floor this season.
Gillian Magner Gillian Magner 5'8" | SG Hopewell Valley | 2024 NJ – Hopewell Valley (2024) commits to Denison University
Tuesday was a happening day in New Jersey with multiple commits, the last of which on the day was Hopewell Valley senior Gillian Magner Gillian Magner 5'8" | SG Hopewell Valley | 2024 NJ , who committed to Denison University.
The guard has certainly shown consistency when it comes to high school ball, averaging 8.4 points a game, 2.1 rebounds a game and 3.3 assists a game as a junior. She’s continued that consistency defensively, recording 62 blocks and 72 steals in 56 career games played. Let’s not forget about her perimeter shooting, taking a bit of a dip last season with 17 in 19 games, but she’s remained a threat from beyond the arc.
Amanda Rapel Amanda Rapel PG Phillipsburg | 2024 State NJ – Phillipsburg (2024) commits to Gettysburg College
This article is strictly commit-centric as on Monday, another New Jersey talent added her name to the Class of 2024 commitment list in Phillipsburg senior Amanda Rapel Amanda Rapel PG Phillipsburg | 2024 State NJ committed to Gettysburg College.
Her evolution as a player has taken several different forms, showcasing her best offensive season as a sophomore, but her most balanced season overall as a junior. She can shoot the rock well, she’s a more than capable scorer, but most importantly, what we saw last season is that she’s matured well into a leader on Phillipsburg. Her defense and aggression around the basket improved and her passing is in a great place right now. Those are the kinds of traits that set apart one player from the rest of the pack.
India Lee – Montclair Immaculate (2024) commits to the University of Bridgeport
Immaculate Conception – Montclair senior guard/forward India Lee has stayed busy on the recruiting trail since July, and at the beginning of the month, she announced her commitment to play at the University of Bridgeport.
The work rate and effort has been there from Lee for years now, a big reason why she’s been featured on one of the best AAU teams that Team Sharp has to offer. Her body of work is very much an unfinished product, but her raw talent and ability that she’s shown so far means she has untapped potential, part of that unfinished product. Her ceiling is high as a player, and her size and height gives her that much more versatility on the floor.
