SubscribeThe girls high school basketball season official kicks off over these next two weeks for most teams throughout the state. While having some time to prepare for this year, I have put together a list of a handful of competitors that will be considered for our Miss Nebraska Basketball POTY. Each player taken into consideration is someone that is monumental in the success of their perspective team, while also being absolutely dominate in most facets of the game across the board.
Please note: This award, depending on who is giving it, usually only accounts for players competing during their Senior seasons. That will NOT be the case in this situation. Any player, from any grade level is fair game and has a chance to win.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

was named the Nebraska Girls Gatorade Player Of The Year throughout the state last season because of her leadership, skill, dedication to the game, and activity in her community. Prince averaged 23.8 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 6.4 APG, and 3.5 SPG on the way to a state title with her Elkhorn North high school team. This winter, I am expecting some of the same type of stat lines from Prince, while she tries to take her team back to the title game for a shot at back to back championships. Something very do-able with the skill that she possesses with the ball in her hands, leading her team down the floor. Remember, she is the #29 prospect in the 2024 Class in the country for a reason. She is a legit point guard that can get a bucket in any way she desires at the high school level. Not to mention that she has a very efficient passing ability with above average vision. When she gets going downhill off of the dribble, there isn’t anyone who can stay in front of her during a 1V1 matchup. As for after her high school career, she has recently committed to the University of Nebraska. A huge commitment for the Cornhuskers program looking forward. Prince has the ability to come in and change a system almost immediately with her play-style, no matter the competition level. It’ll be interesting to see her compete moving forward but for this winter, she has one thing on her mind, being the best version of herself and if she does that, she is a shoe-in for this award. As well as being named the Gatorade POTY once again.
