Kortney Doman Kortney Doman 5’9″ | CG Crane | 2024 State OR is indisputably one of the best players in the state and a huge reason why Crane entered the 2023-24 season as potential favorites to win the state title. Doman has been named the 1A player of the year by the OBCA in each of the past two seasons as a sophomore and a junior, and is a likely favorite to repeat once again in her senior year. Playing at the top of Crane’s press, she absolutely suffocates other teams who struggle to get it past her length and athleticism. This results in her nearing triple-doubles nearly every game, like her 13 points, 7 assists, and 9 steals against Lakeview or her 23 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 9 steals versus Union. Perhaps her most impressive performance so far this season was the game against Grant Union, in which she almost achieved the incredibly rare quadruple-double with 22 points, 14 rebounds, 9 assists, and 11 steals. Overall, Doman is a freak athlete, who has been dominating on the volleyball court as well and winning high jump state titles in addition to her basketball dominance during her high school years. She is someone who should absolutely continue to play at the next level.
Brooklyn Cyr
Brooklyn Cyr
Cyr finished the season on the OBCA’s second team all-state last year as only a sophomore, and with good reason. The Warriors’ point guard is a crafty, quick player who bears a heavy portion of the team’s scoring duties night in and night out while also being the primary distributor to her teammates. She led her squad with 19 points and added on 6 assists in their victory over Salem Academy and had 18 points in last night’s win over Crosshill Christian. The talented lefty floor general is a huge piece of North Douglas’s team, helping them to a strong 4-1 start, and she will continue to be as such as the season goes on.

Another hooper for North Douglas, Brooke McHaffie Brooke McHaffie 5’10” | PF North Douglas | 2024 State OR holds it down in the post for the Warriors. She earned third team all-state honors from the OBCA last season as a junior, and she is already proving that she should be in the conversation for even higher honors at the end of the year. She is a relentless rebounder for North Douglas and her efforts often result in double-double numbers. In a loss this season to Amity, one of the current favorites to win the 3A state title, McHaffie scored and impressive 21 points, which was nearly half of her team’s total. Working alongside Cyr at the guard position, McHaffie will surely have a senior season to remember.
Amos is off to a great start this season, showing everyone why she is one of the power forwards to keep an eye on during 2023-24. She has a big-time double-double in a close win over Pacific with 15 points and 14 rebounds. She has already had three other double-doubles in their first 6 games — including 20 points and 10 boards against Powers– and she also had a 21 point, 7 rebound, 3 steal performance versus Glendale. To say she has been dominant thus far in the year would be an understatement. She is an absolute force on the boards and has a gentle touch around the rim when finishing. The Hornets are 5-1 and with Amos, they will be a tough team to beat this season.
One of the premier guard talents at the 1A level, Hull will be putting on a show this year. Coming off of a season that earned her honorable mention all-state from the OBCA, she is primed to put up big numbers in her senior campaign. This was already on full display in her impressive 21-point performance for the Redsides in their victory over Irrigon. Hull, who has been known for her high finishes in regional and national shooting competitions, is an elite shooter with a consistency that you do not often find. She has helped lead her South Wasco County squad to a 5-2 start and her play will continue to be a key factor in their success as the season progresses.
