So many opponents are thrown off by her impact on the defensive end, forced to rush decisions previously appearing simple. When provided space, the guard can knock down the open three pointer or attack the closeout for an open lane. Price has been excellent launching kickout passes once the defense arrives, staying alert at all times. She has been a steady hand for the 5A title winner, looking to reaffirm her impact yet again.
Johnson still remains valuable for programs at the next level, effective within her complementary role for one of the state’s top programs. Effective rising up into quick release three’s off the catch, she is not wavered by hard closeouts. Defensively, Johnson does well getting into a low stance to mitigate a blow by, staying active at maintaining her position without a foul versus opposing lead guards.
Baker has been dependable for ThunderRidge to start the season, knocking down triples and making well timed passes while on the attack. The guard has an efficient style of play, making the most of her opportunities within a few dribbles. Capable flowing off of weak side actions for quick triples, Baker brings plenty of gravity on hard closeouts from opponents. Upon those straight line drives following the closeout, Baker keeps her eyes up for the extra pass to a baseline cutter or kickout to the corner. Through the start to her senior season, Baker has put up 11 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game as of Decmeber 11th.
A talented shotmaker in the mid-range, Holmes excels changing speeds and rising up into shot attempts regardless of the contest. Holmes’ height advantage continues to aid her on pull-up attempts, rising up going either right or left. A simple hesitation is often enough to freeze the defense, creating space for a drive. Defensively, she has been highly beneficial rotating over to swat away shot attempts, eager in help rotations. Her production throughout the summer has led to an offer from Colorado Northwestern, following him two-way impact throughout local showcase events.
Highlights
Joining Park University next season, the shooting guard will be called upon with much higher volume following the departure of multiple key 2023 contributors. Tasked with spacing the floor, primarily off the catch, Bickerstaff will play a valuable role in aiding drivers and post scorers. Defensively, she maintains her positioning at the point of attack, staying active and ready for what’s next. Certainly a quick, reactionary perimeter defender, Bickerstaff is quick matching up with opposing lead ball handlers.
Venneberg is a high volume shotmaker who has no problem letting a whole bunch of shots fly beyond the arc. Kicking off the season especially efficient from the field, the guard has been on a tear early on. Not just a shooter, Venneberg has shown value attacking the lane for high arcing floaters over incoming help side defense.
