Continue ReadingNykerk has dramatically improved throughout her senior season, catapulting herself into notice after posting 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals with Glenwood Springs. Bringing efficient production from inside the arc, she does a great job playing at a fast pace. Often leaping into passing lanes for deflections and steals, Nykerk has helped get opponents out of their flow while playing a pivotal role in creating extra possessions from various steals per game.
Martinez has been excellent for Palmer out of the gates, leading the program in points, rebounds, and assists per game. Through the start of her season, the guard has posted 14.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. Notably efficient in and outside the arc, Martinez has been nothing short of dependable for Palmer this season. As teams begin to heavily scout and plan to deter her impact, the guard’s efficiency will be fascinating to track, although by all metrics Martinez will be a difficult prospect to slow down.
Pittman has led Grand Valley to a successful start to their season, putting up well rounded averages of 18.5 points, 8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 5.5 steals per game. One of more productive point of attack defenders in the Western Slope, the guard does well taking contact while getting a hand into the opponent’s space. She has gotten plenty of fast break opportunities ripping away the ball from opposing drivers. Pittman has found ways to space the floor off the catch, her gravity beyond the arc has created harder closeouts. Those closeouts have led to better looks for perimeter shooters from subsequent passes.
Highlights
The forward has been an excellent passer with Fairview, active hitting cutters under the rim for efficient shot attempts. Her height advantage gets her extra looks on overhead passes, creating even more opportunities for off-ball targets. She has also impacted Fairvew’s games through impactful defensive rebounding, boxing out opponents quickly whistle sending extra passes to outlets.
Griffin maximizes her role within the offensive flow, making herself available while off the ball or getting out in transition. Especially efficient to open up the season from beyond the arc, the guard has potential to make a big difference spacing the floor for Vista Peak. Through the start of her season, Griffin has posted 7 points and 3 rebounds per game.
Highlights
An excellent complementary guard, Wilkinson has excelled as a threat off the catch, quickly shooting it or attacking the rim. She consistently keeps her eyes up for roaming baseline cutters or a corner shooter, active making the extra pass when available. Legend boasts an incredibly deep roster, Wilkinson has helped aid their dominant start to the season through well timed off-ball movement and productive help defense.
Chang plays a valuable role facilitating for Fairview, breaking presses and keeping her eyes up for the next pass. Her handle has created ample opportunities for her to attack the lane, drawing fouls at a decent rate through the beginning of her senior season. Chang’s defensive instincts have produced plenty of scoring opportunities for herself and teammates, directly sparking multiple fast breaks per game.
