Daija Thomas
Daija Thomas
Thomas has always impressed me with her athleticism and her ability to apply “on the ball” heat baseline to baseline is part of the reason yet her halfcourt defense is also solid. She attacks the basket strongly and finishes after contact yet her court vision in the open court, as well as in the set, this includes off the dribble is also nice
Nikyah Bourgeois
Nikyah Bourgeois
Bourgeois can flip the switch just like that and watching her in the open court blowing by defenders is always a treat but she has a nice change of pace in transition to get to the basket, she also does it in the set and her body control after contact was captured a few times over the years by me showing her finishing acrobatically. She also drops the mid to long range jumper and plays solid defense
Amariah Burns
Amariah Burns
Burns has become more than just a back to the basket player that rebounds on both ends of the court. Her interior defense has gotten better as she uses her frame nicely yet she also can step outside the paint and defend. Her “hands and footwork” has progressed each season and this gets her some good looks yet she is also facing the basket and scoring
Idia Orobor
Idia Orobor
Orobor is “long and athletic” and always remember that is the base and not only do I love to profile players that fit that mode, so do several next level coaches so what are her intangibles? First of all, you can’t teach DESIRE and watching her go after everything off the rim was nice and refreshing but she also did a good job defending, showed good timing to block, alter and (or) defend shots, and she attacked the basket strongly
Grace Sturn
Grace Sturn
Sturns did a good job handling the ball under pressure and showed solid court vision both in the open court as well as in the half court. She also showed a deceptive first step to attack the basket, and she created her shot while being defended and knocked down both the mid and long range jumper. She also did a good job defensively
Rodriguez showed the slight HEZ to get by defenders, both in transition as well as in the set yet she’s shifty with the ball and does a good job of keeping the defender off balance. When you factor in her body control around the basket to score, after the lick included, that’s really good but so is her court vision as well as decision making
Highlights
De’Asia Cassaway
De’Asia Cassaway
Cassaway applied heat “on the ball” off the top yet her doing a good job of using her athleticism on both ends of the floor was equally impressive. She attacked the basket strongly, first step is powerful and she finished in traffic yet she also showed she could create her shot and knock it down from outside while being defended, 3 ball included
Giada Brou
Giada Brou
Brou is a “long and athletic” guard and watching her watch the floor and play the passing lane was nice yet she also did a good job defensively and used her length to alter some shots and give the offensive player something to think about. On the flip, she showed she could elevate and drop the jumper in the set along with hitting the “stop and pop” in transition
