Gilbert is one of those players who gets in “The Zone” and makes tough shots look easy, while being defended. Her range keeps getting deeper and she does a very good job of setting the defender up yet her being explosive off the dribble and using good body control to finish, after contact, has her heading towards that “and one waiting to happen group”. She also does a good job of seeing the floor, in the set as well as in transition, her stop and pop jumper is tough, so is her “on the ball” defense
Mims had me attention in middle school with her former club team yet I lost track of her. She’s just under “the magic number” and she’s long and athletic yet I was fortunate to catch her over the club season with her new club squad. She’s strong and overpowers smaller guards, both off the dribble and around the basket but her rebounding on both ends and scoring over taller players is also nice. She creates her shot under pressure, her jumper in the set as well as in transition is also nice and yes, mid to long-range
Person made my 2025 New Faces from the Peggy Whitley Classic, even though I had seen her in the THA High School Showcase yet watching players in multiple setting is what I love to see, so with that being said, I got a mix of her scoring ability. She handles the ball under pressure and creates her shot from outside, mid to long-range yet that same creativity allows her to get the defender to lean and go by them to score, after contact. She also showed court vision as well as solid defense
Highlights
Spencer for Hire was a TV show was mentioned in one of my first articles about her but I’m, certain this Spencer will be playing on TV at some point. I love her SWAG with the ball, she’s confident and goes right at the defender, both off the dribble, with either hand, and finishes strongly, with either hand. She has a slight HEZ to get the defender leaning and watching her drop the mid to long-range consistently gave me an even better look. She also has very good court vision and her defense was pretty impressive also
