In their 2nd round loss against a powerhouse George Rogers Clark (KY) team, North Greene and Miller drew a tough task in guarding a D1 with power 5 offers. Miller is a nice ’25 post with a big time skill set. They will allow her to simply post, roam and ball screen, get into hand-offs, etc. She’s a diverse post that can do a lot of different things to help this North Greene offensive roll.
In their 1st round win over last year’s champ Oak Ridge, miller scored 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists (and was 7-8 from the free throw line). Miller is a LEGIT post.
Ella Head
Ella Head
For this North Greene team that plays an old-school brand of inside-out basketball, Head ends up finding a lot of weak side three’s. Against high low offensive teams that are high efficiency like North Greene, many defenses will front the post, and that requires pulling the backside helper….and that often is Head’s defender. Head has a really nice stroke, and all the potential to be a high level shooter. They need her to knock down shots to hope to make another run at the glass house.
Lauren Blevins
Lauren Blevins
Blevins is another North Greene shooter that will need to consistenly hit shots for North Greene to win big-time games. She’s a skilled shooter, but will need to continue playing and handling high pressure defenses as they get ready for spring. Blevins will play a large part of that.
Haley Bailey
Haley Bailey
Bailey, along with Miller, form a Twin Towers for North Green that is really hard to stop. In a 1st round win over Oak Ridge Miller had 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. They play an “old-school” high low style that most teams just aren’t prepared to guard. North Green has two posts in Bailey and Miller that can bury you under the rim and consistently get buckets.
In a 1st round loss at the Andrew Johnson Bank Christmas tournament to Andrew Johnson, Porter showed off her three point abilities as she was continuously involved in rallies. Porter will play a huge role for Oak Ridge down the home stretch as then must find consistent shooting to get to the level they were at last year.
Johnson is simply one of the most fun kids to watch in the state. She’s does a big of everything…and is a tremendous athlete. She’s a threat to all opposing defenses, and the North Greene coach admitted that keeping Johnson under control was their biggest concern. She’s a double double machine, finishing with 13 points and 10 rebounds in their 1st round loss. And, she will always have a few blocks and steals for good measure.
