I’ve gotten a chance to watch a few of the teams and players from the CIF City Section’s Western League and here’s a little breakdown of a few players to watch as league play kicks off.
1. Kindi Curl – Hamilton
Curl is a talented wing scorer. She can handle the ball and be the team’s primary ball-handler and she’s comfortable at creating her own shot in the halfcourt. She has good vision and solid playmaking skills for a wing. Can run the offense and keep the ball moving. Good shooter from both three-point range and the midrange. Can push the tempo on the break. Good on-ball defender.

Ramirez is one of the best shooters in the Western League. Good spot up shooter off the catch from three-point range. When the defense closes out, she’s able to put the ball on the floor and attack off the dribble. She uses shot fakes as well to get the defense out of position. Good ball-handler and rebounder.
