Continue ReadingKatie is a generational talent for the Titans of Tea. She is not only the top prospect in South Dakota, but ranked by many as one of the Top 25 prospects in the nation. She has an unbelievable blend of frame and athleticism. At 6’2″ and lightning fast off the dribble she is extremely effective off the drive and requires defenses to dedicate huge portions of their game plan to trying to stop her. Pair this with her consistent shooting and quick release from the three point line and you have an offensive player that is nearly impossible to stop. What sets Katie aside from other elite prospects is the fact that she values every detail of the game. She rebounds on both ends, takes great pride in guarding other high-end athletes, and will make the extra pass to a teammate to get a great shot over a good one. Soak in every minute of this young lady’s senior season as she is one of the top athletes to ever lace em up in South Dakota!
Emilee is another elite athlete that has a skillset that sets her apart from many other guards in the state. She has the best shot creation toolkit statewide with her ability to use her exceptional handles, footwork, and off the charts IQ to separate from the defender. She’s a stat stuffer who can score on all levels, use her vision and handles to assist her teammates, pressure the basketball to generate points off the steal, and isn’t afraid to go and get rebounds from the perimeter. South Dakota State will pair the number 1 and 2 prospects in this class next year as they transition to the next level.
Claire is a defensive machine! She can lock down the best of the best, South Dakota and beyond. Her length, strength, and quickness make for an explosive combination who is a nightmare to try and score against. Offensively she is a smart player who understands how to get her points efficiently, both by creating off the dribble as well as finding soft spots in the defense to settle in and knock down shots. A stellar rebounder as well this young lady contributes at all levels of the game. The top three prospects in this class will make quite a trio for the Jackrabbits!
Mahli is an electric guard who should put on clinics on what it means to be a playmaker on the court. She seamlessly finds driving lanes in which she takes advantage of to get herself to the basket and score or draw the help and set up a teammate for an open shot. Her first step is unbelievably quick and she is extremely hard to keep up with. Another trait for Mahli is her elite three-point shooting ability. She elevates and finishes the shot well and doesn’t need much space to get it off. Defensively she gets after it and does a really nice job guarding on the perimeter. Big things coming for this senior guard and her Knight squad this winter!
Jaidyn is a gamechanger on both ends of the floor, mostly due to her impressive physical attributes, natural athleticism, and high basketball IQ. On the offensive end she uses her skilled footwork, physicality, and frame to finish easily around the basket. She’s a matchup nightmare for most teams as there are many out there that simply don’t have someone with the capabilities to stop a force of a post in the paint. She’s an effective rebounder on both ends and aids in her team winning the possession battle many nights with her grabbing offensive rebounds and limiting opponents to 1 shot cleaning up boards on the other end. Rounding out her game is elite shot blocking and the ability to single-handedly keep the opposing team from scoring at the rim.
Caylin is a force that may be the toughest matchup in the state. If you value her athleticism and throw a guard on her, she can back you down and impose her physicality to get an easy bucket in the paint. When you try to take away her inside game with a post player, she can pull her defender away from the rim and use her quickness and vision to attack the basket with ease or get herself open for a 3-point shot. Her versatility on both ends sets her apart from many other prospects state-wide. An effective rebounder and a defender who takes pride in guarding talented opponents, Caylin has one of the most well-rounded games in our state.
