We are highlighting some top girls that are putting the ball in the basket at a high clip and leading the county in scoring and other statistics for their prospective teams. These girls are getting some much needed ink and we aim to please by showing a little love to them in these articles for each class we highlight, hope you enjoy and spread the word that we are talking about your teammates.
2027, 5’7, CG, Mount Miguel HS, Jaylene Hughes Jaylene Hughes 5'7" | CG Mount Miguel | 2027 State CA
Jaylene is a dynamic scorer and is putting up some numbers most freshman could even dream of, she is averaging 39.7ppg right now in 10 games on the season, which is crazy phenomenal. She is also averaging 5.5 rebounds which tells me she is a rebounding guard that can get the board and immediately start the break and finish or pass off to a teammate for an easy bucket. She is also a good defender, averaging about 2.6 steals per game, which means she moves her feet and gets into the lanes for steals. She has scored 397 points on the season and will probably be a 700+ scorer before the season is over, we will just have to wait and see.
2027, 5’6, PG, Tri-City Christian HS, Talia Anthony Talia Anthony 5'6" | PG Tri City Christian | 2027 State CA
Talia is averaging a solid 19.6ppg on the season playing in 9 games so far, she is getting buckets for her team and contributing to the productivity of the team. She is a thief and is averaging 6.1 steals per game, meaning she is applying a lot of pressure on the floor and making opponent cough up the ball. She is rebounding the ball at 5.4 per game and that is impressive for a guard, rebounding guards fill up the stat sheet and make it easy for teammates to get easy buckets off steals or deflections on the court. Talia is shooting 47% from the field and that is solid for a kid in her class as well as shooting 30% from the three point line, which is decent for a high school player.
2027, 5’11, SF, Fallbrook HS, Grace Nordeen Grace Nordeen 5'11" | SF Fallbrook | 2027 State CA
Grace is averaging a solid 16.7ppg for her team on the season in 14 games played, she is a very good scorer, she is shooting 49% from the field and that is solid, but she can improve on her three point line shooting which is 23%. Grace is a boardmaster as we would say, she is killing the boards on both sides of the floor with an average of 13.2 rebounds per game. She uses her size to get rebounds in the paint and most likely put them back for easy buckets. She can create mismatches in the paint for her team and she is capable of scoring over both shoulders, this kid is pretty good with those type of numbers.
2027, 5’8, CG, The Bishops School HS, Kamaili Lasua Kamaili Lasua 5'8" | CG The Bishops School | 2027 State CA
Kamaili is averaging 16.0ppg this season in 12 games played , she is shooting at a 41% clip and is solid when it comes to productivity for the team. She is a guard that knows how to score, but she adds a little more to her worth on the floor with 5.3 rebounds per game as well as 2 assist and 2 steals per game. She can score the ball in a variety of ways, but she is also getting to the line and making freethrows at 70%. She is still developing her three point shot, but it does not stop this kid from scoring the ball at will when she plays.
