Plus, we had Peyton Guay Peyton Guay 5'8" | CG West Rutland | 2025 State New E break the West Rutland program record just last week! Let’s look at Brooke’lyn Robinson Brooke’lyn Robinson 5'7" | SG Lyndon Institute | 2024 State New E , the latest player to surpass the vaunted scoring mark, Peyton, alongside a few others who I think are poised to do similar work. Here we go!
Brooke’lyn Robinson Brooke’lyn Robinson 5'7" | SG Lyndon Institute | 2024 State New E , 5’8 G – Lyndon Institute Class of 2024
Ms. Robinson did what so many players hope to do in their high school career, hit 1,000 points. It was just the other night that she stamped herself in LI history and it comes well-earned. Brooke’lyn is one of the most efficient and pure shooters around, using a quick trigger off the catch and quick-to-the-point moves to get to her spots. She’s been one of the hottest shooters from deep this Winter and Lyndon sits among the top 5 in D2 in large part to her scoring, but two-way effort and leadership at large. Congrats Brooke’lyn!
Peyton Guay Peyton Guay 5'8" | CG West Rutland | 2025 State New E , 5’9 G – West Rutland School Class of 2025
Guay actually hurdled the 1,000-point mark last season as a sophomore, an incredible feat on its own. But it’s worth noting that she just broke the West Rutland program record last week, surpassing the previous record of 1,477 on a 24-point performance last week which was preceded by a 26-point game earlier that same week. Guay does it with defensive fortitude and transition scoring, the 3-ball, and heady movement away from the ball to exploit the defense. An incredible amount of buckets regardless of division, especially as a junior.
Caitlyn Davison Caitlyn Davison 5'9" | CG Hazen | 2024 State New E , 5’9 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2024
It’s been Caitlyn who’s been a key piece of this Hazen squad the last couple years, particularly last year en-route to a state semi-finals appearance. Davison’s ability to puncture the paint and finish inside, in the short-range, and collect FTs is a large part of her scoring due to its efficiency and effectiveness. Yet she’s truly a 3-level scorer. CD knocks down pull-ups in the mid-range, 3s off the catch and off the bounce, and knows how to get to her spots whether she’s creating for herself or moving away from the rock. She’s steadily posting 20 or so ppg. and must be well on her way to 1,000.
Sophia Rockwood Sophia Rockwood 5'7" | CG Windsor | 2025 State New E , 5’8 G – Windsor H.S. Class of 2025
It was last year as a sophomore that Sophia really began scoring in earnest. And this year? Well, she’s been exploding for huge games every week it seems. She went for 31 just a couple nights ago and is averaging 21.8 ppg. in January. Rockwood finds the nylon with her savvy creation out of the pnr, getting into the paint for a variety of finishes, FTs, and 3-balls off the bounce or the catch, doesn’t matter. Plus, a lot of her scoring is fueled by Windsor’s unrelenting fullcourt pressure. Unless Sydney Perry Sydney Perry 6'0" | PF Windsor | 2024 State New E goes big-time the second half of the winter, Sophia is likely WHS’ next to hit the 1,000-point mark.
Sabine Brueck Sabine Brueck 5'8" | CG North Country Union | 2025 State New E , 5’9 G – North Country Union H.S. Class of 2025
Last years GPOY is living up to the hype. Brueck has been a force for NCU, using her sheer athleticism, speed, defense, and excellent finishing on both sides of the cup to explode for big scoring nights. Sabine went for a 29 about two weeks ago and has averaged over 20 a game in the month. Sabine’s offense is often created by her defensive prowess, forcing TOs and breaking out in transition. But she’s a crafty slasher in the halfcourt too and will knock down 3s, most efficiently off the catch. 1,000 is certainly within striking distance.
Anna Moser Anna Moser 5'8" | CG Rutland | 2026 State New E , 5’8 G – Rutland H.S. Class of 2026
The sophomore has big shoes to fill and she’s doing just that. Moser’s been the clear leader for this RHS team on both sides of the ball, but let’s look at her offensive impact. She’s steadily contributed scoring marks like 17, 21, and she just posted a 31-piece last week. Anna’s ability to break down the defense is emphatic; her handle is sharp and creative, she has hot-spots at each level, and will dice teams with her shooting touch and steady distribution when the defense collapses on her. Moser is having a breakout year.
