Staley vs. Lee’s Summit North (January 2nd)
A key Kansas City matchup and a game that features a number of quality guards. Staley has been on a roll at 9-1 and a big reason why is the play of their backcourt. They’re young but perform well beyond their years. The team as a whole is smart and plays with high IQs. Lee’s Summit North is solid and will rely on Summer Yancy Summer Yancy 6'0" | SF Raytown | 2024 State MO to make big plays at big times. It’s going to be one of the best games on the year on this side of the state.
Ft. Zumwalt East vs. John Burroughs (January 3rd)
Zumwalt East has been a pleasant surprise so far this season. In fact, they’re one of the best teams in the state. Their only loss came to 11-0 Franics Howell and East is 9-1 in their own right. A team that is excellent on the defensive end of the floor. Burroughs will be a tough task. The Bombers look like a favorite in Class 5 and can beat you in so many ways. This will be a high level game.
Walnut Grove vs. Macks Creek (January 4th)
A Class 1 game that’s between two teams who have one loss on the season. Walnut Grove is 10-1 while Macks Creek is 11-1. There’s nothing like a small school battle between two teams who look like they can have a memorable season. That’s exactly what this contest is going to be. These teams have big average margins of victory and this will be their first key game of the season.
Bishop LeBlond vs. Chillicothe (January 5th)
These two teams look like some of the best in their respective classes. LeBlode is 10-1 and playing in Class 3 while Chillicothe is 7-1 and a member of Class 4. It’s a home game for Chillicothe and this is enough to make them a favorite. They’ve defeated some quality opponents and that could play a factor in the end. Look out for this one to be a dark horse for game of the week.
Sophie Cunningham Classic (January 5th-7th)
