Annika Salettel Annika Salettel 5'11" | SG Beaver Dam | 2024 State WI
After missing significant time with a severe knee injury, Salettel has looked solid in her senior season. I thought she did an excellent job in isolation defense against Verona last week and showed that she’s still more than capable of making perimeter shots consistently. The way she has been playing after gaining more confidence in her knee may catch the eye of a few small schools in the region.
Halle VandeHey
I’ve been a fan of VandeHey’s size and athleticism for a while, and after seeing her play last week, that opinion solidified. She did a solid job scoring and defending against one of the best players in the state, and she didn’t seem to shy away from the challenge, even when she got her third foul late in the first half. She’s a tall, athletic wing who can hit some perimeter shots when left alone and can shoot over kids taller than her because of her high release and lift off the ground on her jumper.
Marley Busch Marley Busch 5'11" | SF Dodgeville | 2024 WI
The Dodgeville forward has become a versatile scoring threat over the past few seasons. She’s been a kid who could rebound well and score in the paint, but she looks much more comfortable stepping out and knocking down shots when defenses don’t close out aggressively enough on her. As Busch gets more comfortable shooting from the perimeter, she’ll continue to improve the consistency of the results. The best version of Busch we’ll see may not be until a few years into her college career, and she’s more than good enough to help some small schools out now if she wants to play at the college level.
Lauren Capstran Lauren Capstran 5'7" | CG Franklin | 2024 State WI
Capstran has been a part of successful high school and AAU teams for a while, so it’s fair to say that she’s contributed to winning environments for her whole basketball life. She understands what her teams need from her, and she does it. She’s a physical guard who can make shots from the perimeter and defend wings on the defensive end. Capstran has even shown that she can play as a lead guard in a pinch after one of her teammates went down with an injury. She finds a way to help her team in any way she can,
