Parr is driving the CAR and let me say this, on the AUTOBAHN as her speed with the ball and staying under control has always impressed me, even when I didn’t know her team because of rosters not being provided yet fast forward showcasing her skills and helping lead her high school squad to a state championship last season, UIL 4A, the chance of a repeat is still there before she heads to Wichita State. She’s explosive, very nice body control on her finishes and can drop the mid to long-range, plus her “on the ball” defense is very nice
Atamah wasn’t signed the last time I checked and this is why I complain about certain things that have happened to the game because she’s a LEGITIMATE D1 player, I put that in caps yet NO CAP. She’s “long and athletic” which will always be the base and her intangibles are “she goes after EVERYTHING” and I’m talking not only off the rim but loose balls. She defends inside the paint and can step out to guard her man, she plays the passing lane, she scores off the dribble and around the basket
Roseby showed potential in middle school and kept bringing it so after helping lead her squad to a the 5A State Championship and being names MVP, she hasn’t taken her foot off the gas as they are among the frontrunners again this season. The Stephen F Austin signee showed she could score multiple ways by creating her shot to attack and finish, nice deceptive first step, or elevate and drop the jumper. She also scored around the basket, putbacks included and rebounded on both ends
Richard with the “shake and bake” impressed me years ago and with her heading to LSU next season, she will bring the ability to fit into whatever system she’s placed in, that ain’t easy but neither is trying to guard her. She shows the slight HEZ to get the defender to lean yet her body control attacking the basket enables her to finish strongly after contact. She also has solid court vision, in the set as well as in transition, but her stop and pop jumper is also solid, so is her baseline to baseline pressure
Willis showed everybody “whatcha talking about Willis” with her ability to drain it from deep. I watched her shoot the ball well before playing for her dad at La Vega and she is among the top “drops it from deep” players in the state. I really like her setting the defender up to drop it while being guarded but her mixing it up to attack gives her options and keeps the defender on their toes yet showing a nice “catch and shoot” with a hand in her face had me smiling before she heads to Northwestern State and a good chance to repeat as a state champion
