I’ve gotten a chance to watch a few of the teams and players from the CIF Southern Section’s Gold Coast League and here’s a little breakdown of a few players to watch as league play kicks off.

Pascual is a bit of a combo guard, capable of being a ball-handler and playmaker and being a primary scoring threat. She is consistently able to get into the paint off the dribble and can either finish the play or dish the ball to a teammate. Consistent shooting threat from midrange and from the three-point line. Strong on ball defender.
2.
Laurel Hinds

Hinds is the epitome of a hustle player. Continuously does the little things that lead to winning games; dives on the floor for loose balls, locks up defensively with quick hands and feet. She knows how to position herself in the paint for boards. She’s able to handle the ball and can shoot it from three-point range.
3.

Denloye is a smaller but strong point guard. She’s able to consistently attack off the dribble and finish at the basket. She’s able to find open teammates both on the break and in the half court. Knows when to push the pace and when to slow the tempo. Good on ball defender with quick hands.
4.
Olivia Lagao

Lagao is one of the better point guards in the Gold Coast League. Just a solid all-around floor leader who can run the offense efficiently. She can score the ball and she can find the open teammate. Able to get to the basket and draw fouls to get to the free-throw line. Consistent three-point threat off the catch.
