We also saw a strong group of young players at the event. Here is a look at those Class of 2027 players who caught our eye.
Dasia Scott (Principia): The talented 6’2″ forward got the event off to a rousing start as she had the most dominating individual performance of the event. She scored 37 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the Panthers victory over East St. Louis in the first game of the shootout. She showcased her overall skill level as she scored in the paint and from the perimeter while also handling the ball and facilitating offense. With her height and strength and talented level, she was able to do just about anything she wanted to do on the court.

Aleyce Edwards Aleyce Edwards 5'4" | PG Kennett | 2027 State MO (Lift for Life): The 5’7″ point guard scored 17 points in the Hawks 65-62 victory over Huntsville Lee. She did a nice job of letting the game come to her on offense while other teammates are getting going early. She distributed the ball well early, but when she asserts herself into the offense, she can get a bucket from all three levels. She also had big baskets at key junctures of the game. When Lee cut a 19-point lead to one point in the fourth quarter, she responded with a big 3-pointer for some breathing room as the Hawks never trailed. She also had a couple of exciting coast to coast trips to get transition layups.

Alexis Neumann (Chatham Glenwood): The 6’0″ forward from Central Illinois earned game Most Valuable Player awards after leading Glenwood to a victory over Ladue. She scored a game-high 22 points while also rebounding and playing solid defense inside. She has excellent fundamentals in the paint as she catches the ball and keeps it high to finish inside. She has patient moves as she was backing defenders down and hitting the turnaround jumper off the glass. She was also very effective as a secondary ball handler against pressure defense as she made good decisions with the ball.

Cara Manuel Cara Manuel 5'7" | PG Lift for Life | 2027 State MO (Lift for Life): The 5’7″ guard made her presence felt on the defensive end against Huntsville Lee with her outstanding on-ball pressure. She moved her feet very well and was able to turn opposing ball handlers on the dribble. She also played good position defense as she came over from the weak side to get steals and deflections. She also stepped up and hit a big 3-pointer in the fourth quarter of a close game.

Tamera Currie Tamera Currie 5'11" | PF Ladue | 2027 State MO (Ladue): A 5’11” forward who has been a steady double-double performer in her first varsity season and she continued that productivity on Saturday as she scored 14 points. I was impressed with her mobility and her offensive skills around the basket as a finisher. She is also a strong rebounder who did a good job of blocking shots around the basket with her wingspan.

Saudia Brock (Lift for Life): A 5’9″ forward who was pressed into service with a few injuries and she did an excellent job in the minutes that she played. She didn’t put up big stats, but she made a big impact on the game with her activity and hustle on several occasions. She ran the court well to get a transition layup. She is a good athlete who got offensive rebounds to get extra possessions for her team and she also blocked a couple of shots.
