Continue ReadingThe wiry athletic guard does a good job doing a little bit of everything. She’s a toolsy player, one that is an effective defender but also a well-rounded offensive threat. Anderson can play both on and off the ball. She scored on a left-handed drive and hit a three. Aaliyah tallied 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in a 53-46 win over Dawson County. NAIA and D-III schools should take a peek.
Carrollton had a sluggish first quarter, trailing 9-4 to Rome. Madison Reese Madison Reese 5’7″ | PG Carrollton | 2025 State GA sparked the Trojans in the second quarter, coming off the bench to score 10 of her team-high 14 points in the frame to power Carrollton to an eventual 46-29 victory. Reese sank two threes and turned defense into offense. Madison added 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals in the win.
Pender caught my eye with her ability to penetrate and kick to shooters. The playmaker handled the ball well and got it where it needed to go. When she called her own number, Sloan delivered with her outside shot. Pender netted at three and scored on a putback, finishing with 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 51-46 loss at Coahulla Creek.
Caroline Reed
Caroline Reed
Caroline relied on her balanced floor game to support the Colts in a rivalry victory. Reed knocked down a three and stuffed the box score with 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Just like her older sister Brinkley Kate Reed (Truett McConnell), Caroline plays with great energy and has a good feel for the game.
Shea Poe
Shea Poe
Shea has nice size on the perimeter. She’s a three-point shooter that can get hot once one triple drops. Following a one-point first half, Poe netted three long balls and finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a win over Northwest Whitfield.
Lilah Brooker
Lilah Brooker
I liked how Brooker moved with the ball and the form she had on her jumper. She’s a dangerous shooter and a heady playmaker. She scored on an And-1 coast-to-coast take and then buried a three at the buzzer heading into the half. Lilah contributed 6 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
