A typical high school game was played on Friday between South View and Seventy-First, and the Strictly 4 the Ladies Showcase was hosted on Saturday. Let’s take a look at the top scorers from the weekend.

Nahmiah Aekins Nahmiah Aekins 5’8″ | CG South View | 2024 NC seemed to be at the free throw line quite a bit from her work on the block. She made sure to grab offensive rebounds and use them for more opportunities. She had some range with her shot making it from deep. Late in the game when her team needed to make a surge, she was to going to be denied making shots from all angles. She did a nice job getting in the way on defense grabbing the steal.
Semiyah Saunders Semiyah Saunders 5'7" | SF Gates County | 2026 NC

Semiyah Saunders Semiyah Saunders 5’7″ | SF Gates County | 2026 NC has some nice range with her shot knocking it down from deep. She helped tie the game up in the third quarter grabbing back to back steals and layups off of those turnovers. She drove hard to the basket on a half court set, and turned around with another steal to knock down the three ball.
Danasja Horne Danasja Horne 5’9″ | CG Quality Education Academy | 2024 NC was moving well without the ball getting the open look to drain it from around the arc including a buzzer beater to finish out the first quarter. She’s tough on defense, too, being able to lock up the ball as her opponents try to drive to the basket. She knows how to get in her opponents’ heads on both ends of the court.
Sarah Strong uses her length and IQ on defense to grab the ball knocking it away from her opponents. She was constantly finding her open teammates. She rebounds well on both ends, and she protects the ball blocking shots in the paint. She plays well with a team and doesn’t mind a little iso play as she gets to the rim.
Aaliyah Hinnant has a smooth shot executing it well as she makes it from deep. On defense, her head stays on a swivel always knowing where the ball is and preventing her opponent from getting the pass. She came right out in the second half finishing what she had started getting to the rim and finishing strong.
