In the first semifinal, the top-ranked Page Sand Devils advanced over the Chinle Wildcats 47-37. In the day’s second semifinal, Window Rock Fighting Scouts advanced, winning over the Show Low Cougars 45-38. Page came out on top in the Championship game, beating region foe Window Rock 35-29.
Here, I look at the standout performers from the weekend.
Alyssa Harris

The senior didn’t score like she usually does, but her experience and ball handling was invaluable. She used her length and court vision to set up her teammates repeatedly. Harris has the ability to shine at the next level.
Sofia Cambridge Page
Cambridge used her length to disrupt opponents the entire weekend. She rebounded very well as she had a near double-double in the title game. She also impacted on defense by using her length to alter shots against the opposition.
Aubrie Wilson Aubrie Wilson 5'9" | SF Show Low | 2024 State AZ Show Low
Aubrie was energetic from start to finish and never backed down. She rebounded very well and created extra opportunities for her teammates. She also showed a good touch from the perimeter.
Raquel Wilson Raquel Wilson 5'7" | CG Show Low | 2025 State AZ Show Low
Wilson is a good passer who always had her head up and displayed the ability to pass with either hand. On defense, her on-the-ball pressure was some of the best I saw over the weekend.
Qoah Yazzie Chinle
Yazzie did a good job of balancing between being a shooter and being a facilitator. She was like having a coach on the floor as she helped direct her teammates on where they needed to be on the court. She played solid defense and displayed active hands.
Melicia Nelson Melicia Nelson 5'7" | PG Window Rock | 2024 State AZ Window Rock
Nelson dazzled the entire weekend with her court vision. She has a nice handle and sees the floor as well as anyone in the state. She plays with a nice pace to her game and rarely gets out of control when initiating the offense.
Jayme Tso Window Rock
Jayme is a nice-looking wing player who shoots the ball well, especially from three. She shot it with range well beyond the line. She moves well without the ball and patiently waits for shots to come to her instead of forcing the action.
Jayda Brown Window Rock
Jayda is a good-looking wing that didn’t shoot as well as she usually does but contributed in other areas. She understands spacing on the floor and rebounded very well. She also played very good defense.
