Continue ReadingSenior guard leading her team to an undefeated record and recently reached the 1000pt scoring mark. Aggressive rebounder, outworks opponents in the lane and hustles after 50/50 balls. She attacks lane fearlessly and uses her athleticism to finish contested layups. She can play on or off the ball, has a quick first step and nice midrange pull-up. She is a menace on the ball defensively and reads passing lanes well.
Highlights
Lengthy 2027, 5’11 perimeter player. Knock down 3pt shooter with range well beyond the line. A player to watch in the 2027 class, she has some creativity offensively with a nice turn around jumper in the paint and her length allows her to finish over defenders. She is always shot ready and has good footwork coming of screens and smooth stroke. Had 26pts, making six 3’s to go with 5 rebounds in a win vs. Orange County.

Samantha has put together a nice season, leading Monticello with 16.3 ppg and 6.5 rpg. Had a recent 40 point, 14 rebound game along with 5 steals in a win against Louisa and shot a blistering 93% from the field and 100% from free throw line 14/14. Samantha can start the break off a rebound, can attack from the wing and finish with either hand in traffic. She is also a solid free-throw shooter and has nice 15ft jumper. On the season she is shooting 72% from the field

On a balanced Covenant team with a 17-3 record, Makayla is the leader in ppg, field goal %, assists and second on the team in rebounds. She is a fearless athlete who takes no plays off. Great defender, moves well laterally and Her ability to anticipate the next pass has led to easy transition baskets for her team.
Another talented player in the class of 2027. Amori has great size and skill at 6’2, good footwork and gets great position in paint pinning her defenders. Has a variety of low post moves, good awareness of where defenders are and uses the glass well. She runs the floor in transition, has good hands catching on the run and finishing through contact. Amori has had a huge impact at the varsity level in her freshman season and will be a player to watch for years to come.
