It’s truly thrilling to see these girls in action and giving their all to advance to the next round!
Watching explosive freshman Kayla Rice Kayla Rice 5’10” | SF Dana Hills | 2027 State CA in her recent CIF games was incredibly exciting as she played a crucial role scoring 16 points to get her team to the semifinals. Despite her remarkable performance of 31 points and 8 rebounds against Jserra Kayla and her team fell short and missed out on advancing to the finals. Throughout the season, she showcased her talent by averaging an impressive 19 points per game and her speed, creativity and strategic positioning made her an impressive player on both offense and defense. Whether she’s driving to the rim, hitting soft floaters or quick layups Kayla skills are a joy to watch. I can’t wait to see her transition into her sophomore year and watch her continue to develop and excel on the court.

Ellie shined during the playoffs. As just a sophomore she has full control of her team. She aggressively defends her basket and then brings the ball back up the court to create the next play. Her tenacity on defense is unmatched as she is constantly hustling and constantly causing disruptions to the other team. She has a strong controlled touch on the ball and makes beautiful precise passes in order to get it where it needs to be on the court. She is constantly setting up her teammates for uncontested perimeter shots. She also has no problem knocking down shots anywhere on the court. She is an all around great player which is exactly why she just received South Coast 1st team all league.
Emily effortlessly dominates the game with her imposing height and remarkable agility. Her impact on the court is undeniable as she shows relentless hustle and impeccable foot work on defense often having numerous blocks. On offense she utilizes her physicality to dominate the paint and secures multiple offensive rebounds. She also thrives underneath the basket not letting anyone get in her way. Emily’s ball handling skills are on point which allows her to fearlessly drive to the rim to execute tough finishes. And on top of all that; she can also confidently sync three-pointers when the opportunity comes up!
Watching Nyemah play is such a treat! Her speed, agility, and finesse make her unstoppable; particularly in fast breaks and quick dribbles. She fearlessly attacks the rim with aggression and exhibits a diverse range of scoring abilities. She can pull off perimeter shots and hook shots and everything in between. Despite pressure, Nyemah maintains a calm demeanor yet possesses the ability to react swiftly when necessary. Averaging an impressive 26 points per game she pours her heart into every play which shows her commitment to winning and leading her team just as she did in her last intense battle against Santa Margarita high school in order to secure her team a spot in the CIF finals.

Lea-Lines is a force to be reckoned with on the court, she shows both strength and physicality in her play. Utilizing her height to her advantage she confidently takes tricky contested perimeter shots and she drives through defenders to finish strong at the rim even among heavy traffic. Her defensive hustle is impressive as she consistently challenges opponents and disrupts plays. Her tenacity extends to the rebounding battle where she fearless fights for every loose ball and isn’t afraid to slap it away from her opponents. Despite her teams loss in the CIF semi finals she showed true leadership by rallying her teammates to fight until the end and almost have a comeback against Lakewood.
