Continue ReadingI caught plenty of action during the playoffs via NFHS and with the countless platforms in Texas, teams spread out across the country, and live events and not having cooperation with clubs to turn in rosters in a reasonable time, sometimes players are missed but I always advise those who don’t understand my logic of “I have to see the player for myself” I always suggest to check out where I’ll be instead of complaining
There are several events, as well as Individual Showcases that I cover but nevertheless, here are the additions
Campbell gave me a great first look, I absolutely knew nothing about her yet she left a lasting first impression see evaluation here
Mays is “long and athletic” and over “the magic number” yet an injury cut her senior season short. Solid rebounder and defender with nice timing
Millington took me back to another era with her skillset see evaluation here
Carlyle is one of those players that I missed because of not having a roster yet she showed a solid skillset around the basket to score but her court vision from the high post was also nice. Her team made it to the State Final 4 and she played a big part in it
Emeh is an explosive guard that understands how to use her athleticism on both ends of the court. Her on the ball pressure is smothering at times, she also has solid court vision and can score both off the dribble as well as from outside
Lecompte caught my eye prior to HS and she played a key part in her team making a deep run
Breedlove closed out her career sending numerous messages as she helped lead her team to the playoffs see evaluation here
Scruggs has a story, well several stories and while she has shown she can not only compete, but coming to Texas and making noise every chance I caught her is just what she does see evaluation here
Campos left me speechless showing #sizedontmatter when you can play see evaluation here
Leverton has consistently been one of the top scorers in private school and she showed me why as her ability to create her shot under pressure and knock it down while being defended stood out yet she also scored off the dribble and finished after contact. Solid ballhandler and nice court vision
Highlights
Rowan took me back to one of my initial evaluations showing she will not be outworked. She also did a good job during the season of “finding ways to put the ball into the basket”
Williams stood out during the playoffs yet she also did the same thing at the PGH Top 250 Showcase see evaluation here
Louis was a Tip Sheet waiting to happen on the PGH Circuit and one of the articles titled GAMECHANGERS is just what she does because her huge steal playing the passing lane which led to her scoring helped CHANGE the GAME’S momentum and helped her squad pull off a double OT victory as they are in the State Championship Final 4
