Hayden Wilkins Hayden Wilkins 5'8" | PG Saint Johnsbury Academy | 2024 State NewE , 5’8 G – St. Johnsbury Academy Class of 2024
With Wilkins it’s all business. Hayden has the ability to carry a high usage rate with her creation and shot-making, yet she’s as team-oriented as they come. Hayden’s season has been built upon keen facilitation of the offense steeped in good decision making; she makes nice reads of defensive coverage and sets up St. J’s shooters and cutters both in transition and the halfcourt. Plus, she can get it going, as she often does, when the game comes to crunch time. Defensively, Hayden is reliable and high-IQ, able to bother ballhandlers, disrupt passing lanes, and close gaps as a rotator quickly. A natural facilitator with a knack for crunch time playmaking.
Caitlyn Davison Caitlyn Davison 5'9" | CG Hazen | 2024 State NewE , 5’8 G – Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2024
It’s hard not to love Davison’s game. Caitlyn’s ability to control the game is quickly noticed as she makes direct impact on both sides of the ball. CD’s offensive abilities are considerable; she’s a relentless, physical driver with a thorough finishing package which leads to ton of paint finishes and FTs. Moreover, she’s one who organizes the offense, initiates the attack, and creates a ton of opportunities for teammates with her passing. On the other end, there’s no let up. Caitlyn is scrappy, smart, communicative, and leads by example with her effort as a defender and rebounder. One of my favorite 2024s.
Samara Ashooh Samara Ashooh 6'0" | PF Champlain Valley Union | 2024 State NewE , 6’1 F – Champlain Valley Union H.S. Class of 2024
Samara’s growth over the last year simply as a shooter has been tremendous. Ashooh has always been known as a nice post facilitator with a number of post moves and some short to mid-range game to go with. But she clearly put in the work and is now a legit 3-point shooter, able to stretch the defense and work out of numerous spots on the floor. Her balanced and varied offensive attack makes it difficult for defenses to decide how to cover her and all of CVU’s off ball action. Moreover, Samara’s clinical defensive work includes smart rim protection, sound post defense, and a whole lot of boards. Another two-way talent out of CVU.
Brooke’lyn Robinson Brooke’lyn Robinson 5'7" | SG Lyndon Institute | 2024 State NewE , 5’8 G – Lyndon Institute Class of 2024
Phew, I mean, the shooting has been tremendous with Brooke’lyn. She broke 1,000 recently and has been doing it with lights out shooting from deep, putting together numerous games with five 3s or more. Robinson has taken on the role of offensive initiator, and she’s done well in that role, yet I get the feel that she’s a natural 2 with her shooting stroke, off-ball movement, and efficient decision making. Defensively, the wit is all there along with the effort. Robinson’s smart two-way game has LI rolling and in the top 4 of D2.
Honorable Mentions:
