Six teams came to compete against one another from across the state trying to take home some hardware. Let’s take a look at the shooters that stood out at the games.
Sophie Levine was showing off her ability to make some plays selling fakes with her movements and dumping the pass off to her teammates underneath the basket for some points. She showed off her range shooting the ball knocking it down from deep with a really nice arc getting over her opponents. Not only was she making these shots, but her timing with the shots was perfect late in the game trying to close the gap and make a run.
Isa Roman started off the three point shooting for her team, and she was doing a nice job making smart cuts across the court to get her points attacking the basket. She crashed the boards on offense being ready to make the dump off pass back to her teammate on the block for some points. Her defense was fun to watch as she handled the first pressure at the top of the key driving her opponent to one side meeting a trap.
Halisi Whitley was doing it all for her team getting inside for rebounds and playing tight on ball defense. She of course showed off her range shooting the ball from around the arc hitting three within the first four minutes of the game. She got inside sliding into the openings to score some points whether she was making the drive herself or she was staying ready for the pass and shot.
Kennedy Moore was constantly hustling on defense getting back on fast breaks blocking shots, and she played excellent on ball defense leading her opponents right into a trap to grab the steal. She showed off her range knocking it down from deep, and she had a nice little side step move getting the open look for her shots.
Brooke Busby showed off her range knocking down the shot from around the perimeter. She’s a tough on ball defender slowing down her opponent and blocking their paths. She hustled up the court on fast breaks being ready for putbacks even battling through contact when needed. She had a nice drive to the basket hitting a floater on the baseline.
