Preseason Rankings are listed below the Post – Season List.
Here are the Top 25 Schools Ranked by PGHCali in the Post Season, I will recap our Preseason Top 25 Rankings for California and then also update the rankings as it was left after the State Playoffs this year. My predictions were pretty good and you will see what I mean as I run it down.
#1: Etiwanda HS (32-3), (10-0) Baseline League; CIFSS Open Division Champions 2024; Open Division Regional Champions 2023 & 2024; Open Division State Champion 2023 & 2024
Etiwanda captured the Open Division State Championship for their second consecutive year, they again matched up with Archbishop Mitty for the game and won the game with a very convincing performance. I told most this year, Etiwanda is primed and focused on winning another title this year, but most followed their favorite and were dissapointed. My prediction is that they will repeat next year as well, because they are only losing four seniors and everyone else is returning, gonna be hard to beat next year as well.

#2: Archbishop Mitty HS (30-1), (12-0) West Catholic League; CCS Girls Basketball Open Division Champions 2023 & 2024, Regional Open Division Champions 2023 & 2024; CIF State Open Division Finalist 2023 & 2024;
Archbishop Mitty High School, located in San Jose, California, is known for its successful girls’ basketball program. The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs girls’ basketball team is renowned for its competitive performances at both the state and national levels. They are always a force to deal with in the girls basketball arena and will continue to be as long as the kids are lined up to go there to get a chance to be apart of a CIF State Championship team. They lost to Etiwanda in the State Finals and they are losing four key players that were producers on this team. They have young talent, but Etiwanda is still at full power.

#3: Sierra Canyon HS (31-3), (10-0) Mission League; CIFSS Open Division Finalist 2024; Open Division Regional Finalist 2024;
Sierra Canyon has always been a Top team in the State of California for girls basketball, they have always had superstars and a cast of very good players to fill out their rosters. They have battled with Etiwanda and other Top teams in the State, but the relationship between Sierra Canyon and Etiwanda has been monumental over the past few years starting in 2018. Both of these teams get athletes knocking down their doors to come and play, they both travel the country playing very competitive schedules and it is for good reason. These teams will continue to battle it out in the State Open Division every year, it is just how it suppose to go. Sierra Canyon will retool next year, losing Reynoso and Randolph as seniors, they still have the #1 sophomore in the state, so they will always be a contender.

#4: Clovis West HS: (31-3), (10-0) in Tri-Rivers League, CIF Central Section Division I Champions 2023 & 2024; State Division I Finalist 2023 & 2024
Clovis West has always been a powerhouse when it comes to girls basketball in the beautiful state of California, they just finished their 11th consecutive Champoinship in the CIF Central Sectiion. This was win 425 for Coach Craig Campbell making him the winningest Coach in Central Section History. This team bring in talent and develops them into elite teams and they will continue to do this year after year for more time to come. They will also appear in a title game this year in Sectional and State, expect it. Clovis West loses one of their legends at the school Athena Tomlinson Athena Tomlinson 5'5" | PG Clovis West | 2024 State CA and a host of cast members that made them a contender, but they will retool as well and make another run in the Open Divsion

#5: Mater Dei HS (25-8), (8-0) Trinity League; CIFSS Open Division Semi-Finalist 2023 & 2024, CIF State Regional SemiFinalist 2023
Mater Dei is a juggernaut in the game of girls basketball on the West Coast and even in the Country, they continue to bring in great talent and super athletes that go on to be superstars in college and some even make it to the WNBA. They have a kid right now that will make that journey if she continues to work hard and be the best she possibly can be and that athletes name is Addision Deal, she is gonna be special and remember folks, I told you that name when she was a 7th grader. Mater Dei is always in contention with a CIFSS Championship or a State Championhsip and they play a good schedule that keeps them in the National Top 25 rankings, enough said..
