The freshmen guard was all over the floor and was getting involved in a little bit of everything. Offensively, she showed some of everything by getting into the lane and finishing around the rim, shooting the jumper off the dribble, and being able to facilitate for others. All things that will make her a problem for opposing coaches for the next three years.

Once again Mead comes get the Coliseum and looks just as good as they have during the season. Most teams see a scoring dip due to the venue, but the Mavericks understand what it takes to be patient and get quality looks. A big contributor that on Friday was Lexi Van Dyke. With +/- of 19 in 12 minutes she did a lot for her team that doesn’t necessarily show up in the stat sheet. Like fighting lose balls, getting deflections and always being in the right spot to relive pressure from other guards. Resulting in her going 3-4 from 3 in a game that her team won by 13 points.
Windsor is one team we cannot count out regardless of the situation. They’re well-coached and always plays the right way. So, coming in being the underdogs against a good Northfield team, I knew players would step up to the challenge. That player happened to Nola Greenwald Nola Greenwald 5’11” | CG Windsor | 2027 State CO the freshman guard, in her first of many trips to the Great 8 she looked ready to go. She fearlessly attacked the rim, putting pressure on the defense and forcing them to scramble. The young guard also handled herself well under the high-level pressure of the Northfield guards.’
Northfield kind of just came out of nowhere this year under first-year coach Sydney Price but this year is going just how they have they imagined it. One big reason for that is the play of Madison Bethel Madison Bethel 5’5″ | PG Northfield | 2027 State CO . Already having a great all-around season, she was able to put that same game on display on the big stage and lead her team to a Final Four appearance. With 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals, she was literally able to turn the game around with her defensive play.
Another Northfield girl thriving under the new system put in place this season is LaPorsha Allen LaPorsha Allen 6’0″ | PF Northfield | 2027 State CO . This freshman post is a serious problem in the paint and has all the moves and toughness to take over a game at any moment. Coach Price decision to bring her in off the bench may be the best thing yet. She is able to come get in and get to work right away. Understanding why she was able to put up 22 points and 6 rebound on 9-13 shooting from the floor.
