For some, it took the full four years of high school to develop their game and fully grasp the mental aspect. For others, it required less time and in some instances, all that was needed was an opportunity to step out onto the court and get acquainted with the speed at the varsity level.
With that being said, here are the players with the biggest jumps in the latest rankings update and whose games’ reached a new level!
One-time All-State selection (Second Team: 2024)
3A/4A Red/Green All-Star (2024)

A prolific rebounder who finishes her career as a top 20 player in the 2024 class. In 92 games played, Quintana totaled 1014 points and 854 rebounds, averaging 11 points and 9.3 rebounds per game!
This season (2023-24) Quintana averaged a career-high 15.8 points per game and helped take the Bloomfield Bobcats (19-10) to the 4A Elite Eight. Aliya was the second leading rebounder amongst the 2024 class with 11.5 rebounds per game this past season!

A rocksteady floor general with excellent vision! To say Boies is a willing passer, would be an understatement. Isabella has a good feel to her game, a key reason why she led the 2024 class in total assists and assists per game for the 2023-24 season. Isabella had 209 assists which averaged out to to a staggering 7.2 per game for the Mesa Vista Trojans (26-4), who this season, reached the Final Four in 2A.

For the 2023-24 season, Boatman averaged 15 points per game, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 3.6 steals for Menaul Panthers (22-5) who reached the Elite Eight as the No. 5 seed in the 2A State Tournament. Charli is a fundamentally sound guard who does a good job of taking what the defense gives her and rarely takes ill-advised shots. Boatman has active hands and does a good job of jumping passing lanes.

Silva had a tremendous 2024 State Tournament. In the Elite Eight vs No. 8 Laguna Acoma, Shanae had 22 points and was nearly perfect from the field, going 8/9 overall. She followed that up with a solid outing in the Final Four vs No. 4 Tularosa, as she posted 14 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

The 2023-24 season was a breakout season for Keira as she was an integral part of the Kirtland Central Broncos (29-3) 4A Championship run. Beall-Gleason is a physical frontcourt player that is comfortable operating from the high-post and midrange areas. Keira is sneaky good at putting the ball on the floor and getting to the cup.

Over the last two seasons, Vigil and the Dulce Hawks have a 40-20 record overall and have reached the Elite Eight twice, once as a six seed and once as seven seed in the 2A Class. Bailey has been a reliable backcourt player that can take stress off of her teammates with her all-around steady play on both ends of the floor.
5A Red/Green All-Star (2024)

Strawbridge was the ‘glue-player’ for the Organ Mountain Knights (21-8) who reached the 5A Elite Eight this season. Helena did a bit of everything; She defended, rebounded, and scored when needed. In 29 games played, Strawbridge posted 7.9 points per game, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals on 36/24 splits (FG%/3P%).
