The class of 2026 is loaded with players that are determined to help their respective teams establish a winning culture and are hopeful of playing at the next level. With the 2023-24 season in the rearview, the class of 2026 can look back at their sophomore campaign and see their growth from their freshman year. Let's take a look at the Center position:

[player_tooltip player_id='648196' first='Adeline' last='Spratley'] | Albuquerque Academy

Spratley is a reliable frontcourt option for the Lady Chargers that comes to play each and every night. The One-Time All-State selection (Honorable Mention: 2024) & One-Time All-Metro selection (Second Team: 2023) averaged a smooth 13.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals this past season. In 27 games played, Addie totaled 361 points, 196 rebounds and 53 steals with eight Double-Doubles.

[player_tooltip player_id='648197' first='Savannah' last='Combs'] | Albuquerque High

Although Combs played JV this past season (TRANSFER) she is still a top 10 talent amassing DI interest. The towering 6'2" center is on the radar for the University of San Francisco, SMU, TCU, Idaho State and UC San Diego. Savannah previously attended Highland where she was an All-Metro Selection (Third Team: 2023). Combs is currently playing on the Nike EYBL circuit, going up against some of best players in the country.

[player_tooltip player_id='648230' first='Violet' last='Gordeau'] | Del Norte

One of the most improved players from the class of 2026. Violet made 23 appearances for the Lady Knights in 2023-24 and essentially doubled her production across the board. Gordeau posted 5.7 points -- 44 percent from the floor -- and 7.3 rebounds per game -- 169 total -- with four Double-Doubles as a sophomore. On the flip side, Gordeau does a good job of contesting shots by relying on her length and staying vertical.

[player_tooltip player_id='794012' first='Serena' last='McHugh'] | Rio Rancho

McHugh is currently listed at 6'3" but seems much taller standing next to her. When committed, Serena is a dangerous offensive rebounder who can provide relief points around the basket. McHugh has vastly improved her midrange jumper and overall touch.

[player_tooltip player_id='648221' first='Johnnay' last='Edwards'] | West Mesa

Johnnay was slated to get meaningful minutes for West Mesa and be one of their key pieces but unfortunately missed the entire 2023-24 season due to injury (ACL). Edwards is a physical lefty that welcomes contact in the paint area. If Johnnay returns to form, the Mustangs will be a better all around squad as she can provide toughness on both ends of the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='648231' first='Abigail' last='Shouse'] | Lovington

At 6'5", Shouse is a massive presence on the floor, especially inside the lane. Despite limited playing time, Shouse was still able to post 6.4 points per game while shooting 58 percent from the floor. What really stands out, is Abigail's ability to alter/block shots, especially from the help-side position.

[player_tooltip player_id='648233' first='Colleen' last='Moses-Perry'] | Thoreau

Colleen helped take the Lady Hawks (13-16) to the Round of 16 for the 3A State Tournament this past season. Unfortunately, No. 11 Thoreau was defeated by No. 6 West las Vegas, 54-44. With that being said, Thoreau will have a handful of players returning next year (2024-25) and will look to make a deeper run. For that to happen, Colleen and others will need to take a leap, something both she and her team are capable of.
