Grassroots Preview: North Bay Basketball Academy 17U UA Rise

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While the high school basketball calendar may have concluded for the current crop of seniors, those who will call themselves seniors when we get to the 2024-25 season are going through one last go-round on the grassroots circuit.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of those organizations is North Bay Basketball Academy which will field a 17U Under Armour team along with a pair of Hype Her Hoops assemblings. The team already competed in its first tournament which also took place in the Bay Area.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Without further adieu, here is a look at this year's North Bay Basketball Academy 17U UA Rise roster and schedule. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Kate Townsend</strong> – Townsend is the lone representative from the Panthers on this year's eight-woman roster. She is listed at 5-foot-8 and is one of five guards that will be part of this year's team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Maya Saibel</strong> – There are at least two Redwood HS throughout the Golden State. The one that Saibel plays for also sees her suit up for its field hockey team. Basketball-wise, she is one of two Giants team captains. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1263872' first='Dylan' last='Zapolski']</strong> – Zapolski is fresh off a sophomore campaign for the Braves that saw the team conclude the 2023-24 season with a 25-7 record. Individually, Zapolski averaged 10.5 points and 1.6 steals while playing in all 32 games. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jocelyn Gigounas</strong> – Gigounas is a multi-sport athlete who also competes in the track and field realm to compliment her basketball achievements. She is one of two representatives from a Marin Catholic team that finished this past season with a 21-11 record. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jordan Washington</strong> – Washington and Zapolski are the two Justin-Siena representatives that make up this year's North Bay Basketball Academy 17U UA Rise roster. Washington nearly averaged a double-double with 14.5 points and 9.9 rebounds plus 2.3 assists in 32 games. She also plays volleyball and is a co-team captain. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sienna Frazier</strong> – Frazier and Gigounas make up the Wildcats contingent on this year's North Bay Basketball Academy 17U UA Rise roster. She is one of the taller members of the team as she stands at 5-foot-10 and primarily plays at the four. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Brooke Denler</strong> – Denler is the tallest member of this year's roster as she is listed at an even six feet. She and Saibel make up the Giants representation on this year's travel team. Denler is one of two on the team playing up in class as 2026s. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Amelia Thomas</strong> – Thomas is one of three team captains that make up Marin Academy and her school is located in the same city (San Rafael) as where the club team is based.
