I thoroughly enjoy following the careers of athletes in the state, but something that is even more special is learning new names. Let’s take a look at Part 1 of the new names that you should learn.
Bianca Negrerios
Bianca Negrerios
Bianca Negrerios was making some nice plays flashing in the paint getting the open look for her teammates as defenders tried to crash around her. She seemed to create plays even when things were broken down filling open lanes and scoring off her floaters. She has a quick release on her shot which was always effective making it difficult for her defenders.
Ella Pierre-Louis
Ella Pierre-Louis
Ella Pierre-Louis was getting inside grabbing rebounds on both ends of the court, and she jumped in front of passing lanes grabbing steals that she knew exactly where to go with finding her open teammates flashing up the court. Her ability to clog the paint was an asset protecting the basket and directing her teammates where to go.
Martha Guinle
Martha Guinle
Martha Guinle was playing tough on both ends. She can strip the ball away from her opponents, and she did a nice job battling contact putting up her shot on the block. She can run the point guard position facilitating plays, or she can step out to shooting guard filling in the role that her team needs. She showed off her range knocking down her shot from deep, too.
Kate Shryock
Kate Shryock
Kate Shryock was making nice plays as soon as she stepped on the court getting to the basket on fast breaks, coming up with steals on her own, and using nice shot fakes to get the open look. She did a nice job drawing defenders towards her to get the open look for her teammates. She didn’t back down from contact getting to the basket in the paint.
Olive Bigham
Olive Bigham
Olive Bigham was flashing in the paint getting the pass and scoring right off of it. She had a nice old fashioned three point play running the floor in transition filling the open lane perfectly. She always seemed to find the right spot being able to go to work off the pass.
