Pfaffe stayed under control and showed she was skilled on both ends. She rebounded, handled the ball afterward and also saw the floor yet she used a deceptive first step to attack the basket off the dribble and finish. She also created her shot and even gave me the “catch and shoot” from outside. Defense was also solid
Peiffer was added to the Top 100 after being one of the GAMECHANGERS at last seasons PGH Top 250 Showcase. As stated in the opening paragraph to open this story, I look for progression and she showed it then as well as on Friday as her ballhandling under pressure has taken off, her behind the back to split defenders is very nice, yet her court vison in transition has also taken off. She created her shot and knocked it down while being defended, mid to long range and she played the passing lane
Cashman has the right last name because her improvement is about to CASH in as she is scoring more in the flow and coming up huge hitting the big shots from outside. She’s a “long and athletic” guard that does a good job of not only seeing the floor both in the set and off the dribble yet her “on the ball” defense, baseline to baseline and in the half court, has gotten better
Whitley Wiatrek
Whitley Wiatrek
Wiatrek is “long and athletic” and that is and always will be the base. She’s in unique position because she’s a big guard that can score, that’s always an attraction for next level coaches but her seeing the floor in the open court and making the correct passes had me smiling. My smiling became wider when she played the passing lane but her rebounding and defense was also solid
Wallace did a variety of things that just grabbed me and I have to start with the intensity she brought on defense off the top. That fire lasted throughout the event yet she also did a good job handling the ball both in transition as well as in the set. She did a good job attacking the basket to score or dish and her pull-up jumper was nice, so was her “catch and shoot”
Highlights
Cayla Mosby
Cayla Mosby
Mosby doesn’t mind physicality, either giving it or taking it, yet her understanding some of the simple things I enjoy seeing that turn out to be big was a pleasure, She does a good job getting positioning and rebounds against taller players, she also falls int that “you won’t outwork me” group as she battles for loose balls. She also uses her frame to score inside, did a good job defending in and outside the paint
Crislyn Anthony
Crislyn Anthony
Anthony is one of the most improved players I have seen from last season until now, I don’t fabricate and it probably has a lot to do with confidence as well as putting in the work because she is showing it on the court. I guess her constantly moving on the offensive end immediately grabbed me, she scored off the dribble and around the basket yet she also went AFTA the ball off the rim, as well as loose balls. Her defense has also gotten better, in and outside the paint plus she faced the basket and dropped the short jumper
