PGH Top 250 Expo Team Four Breakdown (Part 1)

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We should wrap these up over the weekend, but we're looking at Team Four from the PGH Top 250 Expo. I thought this team played better as a unit than expected when I first saw this team, but let's talk about them.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1039224' first='Allysen' last='Buss']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I've known of the Appleton West guard for a few years, and I thought she looked much improved from when I first saw her. She looked confident with the ball in her hands and shot it well from the perimeter, especially in the 3v3 portion of the event. I also thought she looked much quicker off the dribble and has become a reliable varsity guard at Appleton West, which will be helpful for the Terrors.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='751257' first='EllaMay' last='Cooper']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I love watching Cooper create off the dribble. Nobody had as quick of a first step as the Eau Claire Regis guard and had a chance to make something happen every time she touched the ball. Cooper was the most talented guard at the event by a clear margin and will continue to improve as the guard adds more muscle to her frame over the next few years. I wouldn't be stunned if she manages to get her new team to state at least once over the next three seasons.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Laylah Bly</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I hadn't seen Bly since July and was impressed by how well she saw the floor. The Dominican guard had an excellent feel of what was happening around her, and she was one of the best passers I saw all day. Bly kept her head up when she attacked off the dribble, which led to open opportunities for her teammates to score. I was also impressed by how well she finished in traffic and through contact. I loved her motor and toughness throughout the 5v5 game I watched her team play.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1039240' first='Julieyn' last='Martin']</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Hortonville wing exploded onto the scene last season after injuries led to her earning a prominent role in the Polar Bears' stretch run. Martin has done an excellent job being the best version of herself by knocking down shots, playing solid defense on the perimeter, and putting the ball on the floor to attack mismatches. The Polar Bear has plenty of length to be a disruptive force on the defensive end and will likely be a significant contributor in Hortonville's push for Green Bay this season. She's one to keep tabs on in the FVA.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
