Shooting Stars: Maine Division A/B South

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're getting closer and closer to the beginning of the high school girls basketball season in the New England region, especially Maine. Having already discussed quite a few players across the state, from region-to-region, it's time to give some love to the shooters, the players we think will have a big impact from the perimeter this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Isabella Tice - Marshwood (2027)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Very exciting Class of 2027 prospect to follow after what was a very successful freshman year for her at Marshwood, knocking down more than 2 three-pointers a game while leading the region in scoring. Had some big-time performances along the way too, some 20-point games, but most importantly, showing up in big moments. The bright lights did anything but phase her.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Taylar Hodge - Westbrook (2025)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The senior made quite the impact for Westbrook last season, also knocking down more than 2 three-pointers a game. Consistent scorer, but her bread-and-butter has been her perimeter success, with the large majority of her scoring coming from beyond the arc. While we know she can shoot, we'll be watching to see how her game evolves as a senior.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='830722' first='Jordyn' last='Crump'] - Biddeford (2027)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fantastic season for the young stars in this league, from Tice to [player_tooltip player_id='830722' first='Jordyn' last='Crump'], who immediately emerged as an impact piece for Biddeford as a freshman. Plenty of flair to her game and some very impressive perimeter success to go with that. Along with stellar shooting, Crump is someone with a high basketball IQ and split-second decision making, and she's shown some great leadership qualities early on.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jaelyn Meader - Falmouth (2026)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Meader provides a lot to the table for Falmouth, the point guard of the future for this program, or at least for the next two seasons. She combines great interior play and dribble-drive ability with a knack for finding open space beyond the arc for open looks. Really impressive to see what she's evolved into as a player, and her junior year will be key in her continued breakout on the floor.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Angelina Keo - Deering (2027)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The underclassmen are really showing out in Maine as we've seen over the past year. Great play from the Class of 2027, including some fantastic shooters. With Angelina Keo, she fits the billing, someone who we expect to score in double-figures as a sophomore and hit 2-3 three-pointers a game if she's on that night. Consistency is key and sustained consistency means increased success for the future.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Kylie Young - Westbrook (2025)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Young is legitimately one of the better rebounding guards in the state, shown by what she was able to do as a junior, but at the same time, she's been an efficient shooter at the high school level, with a field goal percentage near 50 percent last season. That, along with efficiency at the foul line, a commonality for her due to her physicality on the floor, makes her a dangerous player to guard at any point in the game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
