MTE Ducks Jade Were Finalists—Which Players Delivered?

During the Zero Gravity Girls National tournament this past weekend, I also had the chance to catch the MTE Ducks Jade team in action. They made a strong run to the finals, going undefeated until their championship matchup against Blueprint. This group was locked in all weekend. They play a team-first style and have clearly built strong chemistry over the years. With strong academics, talent and depth across the board, here are a few of the standout players from their game against Blueprint:    Hannah is a powerful, explosive guard who can score at all three levels. She knocked down outside shots, facilitated effectively, and consistently found the open teammate during the game. Her basketball IQ stands out—she knows when to be aggressive and when to make the extra pass. On defense, she's a stopper who often draws the toughest matchup. A 2x Bay State Conference All-star with strong potential.     Savvy lives up to her name. She's a true catch-and-shoot threat and was lights out during the game. She finds the right space, gets her feet set, and makes defenses pay. Her ability to relocate and stay ready for the pass makes her a key part of this offense.     Rae brings strength and physicality to the floor. She was able to use a solid shot fake and strong first step to get to the rim and finish in the paint. She drew fouls and created scoring opportunities at the line. On defense, she applies steady pressure and doesn't shy away from contact.     Sophie, an All-Scholastic selection is a crafty floor general with good ball control. She brings a lot of energy and focus to the team. She kept the offense flowing with great composure. Whether she was getting to the rim, setting up teammates, or leading in transition, she played with a calm confidence that kept MTE balanced and effective.     Reagan a NEPSGBCA All Star, Patriot Ledger All Scholastic Honorable Mention and NEPSAC All Star Honorable Mention selection, has great size and skill. She is a vocal leader on defense, altering shots and setting the tone with her energy. She also showed flashes of offensive skill, including a smooth finish in the paint. Her athleticism and effort are difference-makers on both ends.
