2028 AAU Breakout Player of the Year: Logan Miller

Standing 6'4 with all the potential in the world, the [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] post player is coming off an outstanding summer that included a spot at the Team USA trials in Colorado Springs and an expansion of pretty much every implement in her sizeable box of tools. That's why we are pleased to select Logan as our Prep Girls Hoops 2028 AAU Breakout Player of the Year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miller's combination of size, strength, and skill makes her one of the most unique prospects in the state – really the whole country. A rising sophomore with offers from Minnesota, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Arizona State, North Dakota State and many more pending, Miller is ranked 5th in Minnesota's Class of 2028. “She has grown in strength and power in establishing position in the post,” said Fury 2028 UAA coach Tim Peper. “She also developed an impressive patience to use her post moves to find openings.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>That patience has paid off in many ways. Miller dominated this AAU season on both ends of the floor. Whether posting up with her back to the basket, finishing with power and precision, or making smart passes and intelligent decisions, Logan looked like a seasoned vet. And she's just getting started. Apparently Miller has also developed some significant range behind closed doors. “She hasn't unveiled it yet,” Peper said, “but she also shoots the ball very well from three.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miller's confidence appeared to elevate following the Team USA trials. She didn't make the final roster, but she proved she belonged. “I think after competing with the best in the nation, it gives you confidence,” Peper said. “You know you've played the best, and now you're ready for anyone.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Her high school numbers this past winter were special: 18.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game with season totals of 46 steals and 85 blocks. She started every game, was named All-Conference, and recorded 17 double-doubles. She also shattered multiple school records – including several held by her sister <strong>Morgan Miller</strong>, who now plays at Clemson – like most rebounds in a game (23), most two-point baskets in a game (16), and a perfect 11-for-11 performance from the free-throw line.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense, Miller is a difference-maker. Her length and anticipation allow her to protect the rim and clean the glass on a consistent basis. “She allows us to finish each defensive possession by getting the rebound,” Peper said. “She's been dominant in that area.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>She's also a quietly skilled passer and an underrated ball handler for a big. “We start each practice with ball handling drills, and she handles the ball extremely well for someone her size,” Peper said. “She fits in great with our guards.”</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Peper said there were numerous highlights during Miller's breakout summer that would be worth noting, but two in particular stand out. In the UAA circuit semifinals, Logan scored the game-winning bucket with 1.2 seconds left against another Team USA prospect. The 6'1 forward had a breakout summer with the Bobcats, showing major growth in confidence, consistency, and skill. She's a versatile scorer who can stretch the floor with her jumper or finish inside with touch and toughness. Bell is quick off her feet, light on her toes, and aggressive on the glass. She's not afraid of contact and has a knack for making clutch plays. At over 6 feet tall with quickness, bounce, and natural instincts, she had the tools. What Adedokun lacked was experience. That changed this summer. Playing up with the top West Central squad, Nadia faced a steep learning curve against elite competition, and she met the challenge head-on. Her skill set has expanded dramatically, especially around the basket, and her confidence has taken a major leap. Defensively, she's more aggressive and impactful. On the glass, she's a problem. A scholarship-level prospect from Moorhead, Nadia climbed into the Prep Girls Hoops top 40 this summer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
