<p>As the <strong>2025–26 high school basketball season</strong> quickly approaches, here at <strong>Prep Girls Hoops</strong>, we want to take a moment to preview local area teams and the conferences they compete in. These features will spotlight both returning athletes and newcomers who are poised to make an impact. In this article, we turn our attention to the <strong>Blue Valley North High School</strong> program.</p>

<p>The <strong>Blue Valley North Lady Mustangs</strong> compete in the <strong>Eastern Kansas League (EKL)</strong>, which features programs from the <strong>Overland Park and Leawood</strong> areas of Kansas. In the <strong>2024–25 season</strong>, the Mustangs went undefeated in league play with a <strong>7–0 record</strong> as well was a 20-4 overall record and captured the <strong>6A State Title</strong>, continuing their tradition of excellence.</p>

<p>The program is led by <strong>Ann Fritz</strong>, who is entering her <strong>30th year at the school</strong>. Fritz is widely regarded as one of the top coaches in Kansas history, having developed an impressive number of college athletes throughout her tenure. Her teams have consistently contended for championships, and she guided the Lady Mustangs to their <strong>fifth state championship in 2025</strong>, cementing her legacy as a coaching legend in the state.</p>

<p><strong><em>Key Returners: </em></strong></p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1224235' first='Tatum' last='Schroering'] - Senior forward and good post presence and versititly for the Mustangs. Tatum played valuable minutes a year ago along the run to the state title. She's good around the basket finishing and she's a phenomenal rebounder as well. Solid on the defensive end, holds her ground and doesn't allow easy baskets. Shows the ability to put it on the floor and is great playing the two man game with the other big. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='910377' first='Macy' last='Schroering'] - Junior, forward the the ability to stuff the stat sheet. Macy player good minutes last year for the Mustangs. She's the type player at the end of a game to lead the team in points, rebounds and assist. She finishes well around the basket, and is able to step out and shot the ball as well. Solid handle that allows her to get down hill. </p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1242638' first='Gabbi' last='Hinson'] - A senior guard who brings consistent shooting from beyond the arc, Gabbi has been a two-year starter and provides steady leadership for the team. Her experience and scoring ability help anchor the backcourt and guide the younger players around her.</p>

<p>[player_tooltip player_id='1236706' first='Evie' last='Kincaid'] - A junior forward who is well-rounded and versatile, she contributes in multiple ways on both ends of the floor. She has a strong sense of the team's dynamics, consistently filling gaps and making the right plays. Playing with energy and intensity, she is a true utility player who can impact the game in a variety of ways.</p>

<p>Caroline Cool - A sophomore guard who is dependable at her position, she handles the ball confidently and makes smart decisions in the backcourt. She also stretches the defense with her long-range shooting ability, providing North with spacing and an additional offensive weapon.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1323218' first='Harper' last='Winter']</strong> - A freshman combo guard expected to play significant minutes, Harper is already turning heads and is featured on our 2029 Watchlist as one of the top guards in the state, regardless of class. She is a three-level scorer<strong> </strong>with a natural feel for the game, capable of creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. Harper shows impressive leadership, vision, and instincts, making her a dynamic playmaker who takes full advantage of scoring opportunities when they arise.</p>
